Ian McCurrach trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Ian is Scottish but is based in London where he lives in Shoreditch.

After working for ten years as an actor in film television and theatre, he then worked at The Young Vic Studio Theatre in London as writer and director. He produced, directed and wrote ten plays whilst based there which ran in London and on tour throughout the UK.

Most recently he has been working as a columnist and commentator in both the UK press and internationally.

In April 2017 Ian returned to acting and since then has played Joseph Addison in Orlando: The Queer Element for The BFI Flare Film Festival, Russell in The Exterminating Angel at The Royal Opera House and James Hudson Philips in City of Champions at London Theatre Workshop.
