- From his first marriage, daughter Julie Johnson is the mother of the Gogglebox siblings Pete & Sophie, and son Scott Elliott was drummer with Kiss of the Gypsy.
- Brother of Jimmy Patton with whom he performs comedy on stage as The Patton Brothers. Also son of comedian Gene Patton, and brother of Barry Chuckle and Paul Chuckle. Brian became a performer in 1956, and in 2005 entered the record books having performed in pantomime (with Jimmy) for 50 years without missing a single year.
- In December 2008, Brian Patton and Jimmy Patton appeared as the Robbers in "Goldilocks and the Tree Bears" at the Forum Theatre, Billingham, marking their 53rd successive year in pantomime. This time they were accompanied on stage for the first time by Brian's son, Damien Patton.
