The live broadcast of her wedding, final episode of Gülcans Traumhochzeit (2007), drew an audience of three million television viewers, but was widely considered one of the most embarrassing events in German TV history. The trashy ceremony took place at a hotel in her hometown Travemünde without her father-in-law, businessman Heiner Kamps, who refused to appear publicly (7 August 2007).
