Alivia Roach
- Actress
Alivia Roach is a newfound actress who has worked in roles with heavy, emotional backgrounds, bringing audiences an authentic and coarse look into the lives of each character. She seeks to accomplish each part by looking into the character, and finding the reality in it, and bringing that person to life through passion and genuinity.
Alivia grew up in Tampa, Florida, with her two loving parents and younger brothers, before they moved to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where she spent a majority of her time being molded into the actress she is today. Starting from small-town theater shows like "Beauty and the Beast," to being recommended by her theater director for her first movie debut, she had been anxious to be acting anywhere, whether on-stage or in front of the camera.
"Sugarhouse," was Alivia's first feature-film, about faith, hardship, and family. She played the role of the main character Maisie, who is an older sister to Cricket, who was adopted into the family, all the while trying to bring their family back together -- a deadbeat, drug-addict dad who's never at home, and an older brother who's trying to forget it all. With their mother passed away several years ago, the film takes audiences on Maisie's journey to mend the familial bonds that are beyond frayed, but lead to depending on her faith, and the love that comes with it to find hope in the turmoil.
Alivia's second role casts her in a solo-woman show, a short-film where her character battles the oppression of mental health, in the midst of attempting to keep up with her faith. There is depth and complexity that Alivia pours into the character in the short time she has, bringing to life the raw reality of depression and self-harm that is displayed in the film, as well as holding those emotions and not letting them define the character. The short-film is still in the editing process, and this page will be updated once it is out to watch.
Alivia is excited for the new acting opportunities coming her way, and is eager to bring more characters to life and allowing them to transform the lives of many. She is open to many different avenues, with roles that can push her emotionally and physically, to be the best person she can be for each job, while still maintaining her values of her Christian faith.
