Before superheroes took over every screen and billboard out there, there was a phenomenon called Christopher Reeve. Tall, charming, and with a jawline that could stop traffic, the actor was a force to be reckoned with. Viewers were likely surprised during the first episode of this week’s Good Morning, as the trio of regular hosts was absent.

Instead of Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan, and George Stephanopoulos, three replacements were at the GMA desk.

They included familiar faces, Gio Benitez, Rebecca Jarvis, and Linsey Davis, who filled in admirably.

And Robin, George, and Michael returned just a day later, showing up on Tuesday’s episode.

The usual trio returned in time to congratulate and celebrate one of their co-stars, Will Reeve.

Reeve claimed a major award during the weekend and received a congratulatory hug from Michael before telling his co-stars how it felt to be on stage with stars before him.

Directed by Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui, Super/Man follows Reeve’s life, career, and resilience after a near-fatal horseback riding accident in 1995, which left him paralyzed from the neck down. One of the best documentaries of the year, Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, has finally set its streaming premiere, and you dont have too much longer to wait. Directed by Ian Bonhte and Peter Ettedgui, the doc traces Christopher Reeves rise to stardom as The Man of Steel, and also takes an in depth look at his life before and after the tragic equestrian accident that left him paralyzed.

Per Deadline, Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story will make its HBO premiere on Saturday, December 7 at 8:00 p.m. Et/Pt, and will also be available to stream on Max the same day. Opening nationwide on Oct. 11, the film has already won six Critics' Choice Documentary Awards, including Best Documentary Feature, Best Director, and Best Archival Documentary for its use of footage from the Reeves estate, which includes intimate clips of the late star after his accident as he struggled to adjust to his new life.

The sky’s the limit as the award-winning documentary “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” will officially release on Max Dec. 7.

The film originally had its world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival where it was met with strong critical reception. Most recently, the film had a theatrical run in the U.S. and won six Critics Choice Documentary Awards for Best Director, Best Editing, Best Score, Best Archival Documentary and Best Biographical Documentary. “It’s a beautiful thing to be able to see the full picture of a person’s life,” Alexandra told People. “There were high highs and low lows but also two deep true loves and [three] kids that together blended into this beautiful family.”

Warner Bros. has released the official trailer for “Super/Man,” a documentary about the life of Christopher Reeve.

Directed by Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui, “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” follows the late actor’s rise to superstardom as Superman, as well as his fight to find a cure for spinal cord injuries after he became a quadriplegic following a horse riding accident. Reeve’s family participated in the making of the doc, which includes personal archive material.

“It is a gift. We’re so lucky,” his son Matthew Reeve told Variety. “We not only have his films to look at but a collection of home movies to dig up and go through and interviews on YouTube of him to pull up. Seeing things I hadn’t seen before didn’t change my perception of him but enhanced it…like some rare Australian interview done in 1977 that was uploaded and I didn’t know existed.

It’s been 20 years since we lost our beloved Superman star, Christopher Reeve. But with his memory still alive in our minds, a 2024 documentary titled Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story is revealing details about his devastating accident that left him paralyzed nine years before his untimely demise.

Many attendees remarked that Will looked like the spitting image of his late dad in his early years.

Will wore a dark navy suit, a black tie and a button-down shirt with white and blue pinstripes. Dubin was seen in a cropped black top with floral accents, as well as high-waisted black pants underneath a black jacket.

Christopher had quite a legacy, not just as an actor but also as a philanthropist. The film will chart Reeve’s rise to becoming a film star, including his portrayal of Superman; and his life following his near-fatal horse-riding accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Following the accident, Reeve became an activist for spinal cord injury treatments and disability rights.

The 2023 Academy Awards nominations have been announced, and The Batman received one of the weirdest Oscars snubs. The Batman was nominated for three awards: Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Sound, and Best Visual Effects. With this as a cue, Matt Reeves' The Batman also adds John Turturro's Carmine Falcone to the mix by revealing that Thomas had hired him to keep the secrets of Martha's mental illnesses away from the public eye.

Unfortunately, things went downhill for the Waynes as soon as Falcone killed a reporter who threatened the family's reputation, when a mysterious assassin took down Thomas and Martha. Towards the end of The Batman, Falcone's misdeeds come to light, and Robert Pattinson's Vengeance captures him and hands him over to the Gcpd.

It's been quite the year for Mr. Paul Dano. In March, he starred as the new Batman villain on the block, Riddler, in Matt Reeve's The Batman opposite Robert Pattinson. Dano played the Riddler to terrifying effect, becoming the ultimate villain for the internet age. The reviews for Matt Reeve’s trilogy-capper “War For the Planet of the Apes” are strong across the board, especially for the VFX work and the reliably amazing motion capture performance from Andy Serkis. But one thing critics are absolutely showering in praise is Michael Giacchino’s original score, which is earning him some of the best notices of his career. And that’s saying something given that Giacchino is the man behind brilliant Pixar scores for “Inside Out,” “Ratatouille” and “Up,” for which he won an Oscar.

20th Century Fox have released a new clip promoting War for the Planet of the Apes that shows Andy Serkis preparing to play Caesar in a before and after video courtesy of Weta Digital transformation. The third installment of the trilogy is still a few weeks a way, but critics and fans who have seen the movie through early screenings are heaping praise upon Matt Reeve's War for the Planet of the Apes. Some are even claiming that it's the best movie out of the trilogy while also praising the acting chops of Woody Harrelson and Andy Serkis.

In addition to the acclaim for the acting and the movie overall, the special effects have also been receiving accolades. Weta Digital, founded by Peter Jackson, Richard Taylor, and Jaime Selkirk in New Zealand is behind the jaw dropping special effects and 20th Century Fox has released a video detailing Andy Serkis' transformation into Caesar.

The trailer is called "Witness The End" and it's narrated by Charlton Heston, who as you know, starred in the original Planet of the Apes films. The monologue you hear in this trailer was taken from the original movie.

I love this teaser because it dives into our history. We get to see footage from the franchise intercut with old footage highlighting the accomplishments of man throughout history. According to The Wrap, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes looks set to stay at top of the North American box office with $35 million this weekend, holding off competition from The Purge: Anarchy (which stars Captain America: The Winter Soldier's Frank Grillo) and the critically panned comedy Sex Tape. Great reviews and positive word of mouth means that Matt Reeve's fantastic follow-up to Rise of the Planet of the Apes has suffered a drop of only 52%, meaning it has held up a lot better than The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Godzilla, X-Men: Days of Future Past and Transformers: Age of Extinction. This latest featurette for director Matt Reeve's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes focuses on the 3D used in the film. There's also some new footage from the film included. I'm not the biggest supporter of 3D, it really doesn't enhance the movie going experience or storytelling for me the way everyone who uses it claims it does. I just got to see a screening of Godzilla in IMAX 3D, and although the movie was extremely awesome, the 3D didn't really do anything for me. It's just a new standard for movies and a way for the studios to make a little extra money. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes comes out on July 11th!

Quite possibly the best (and definitely the most surprising) popcorn movie of the summer of 2011 was Rise of the Planet of the Apes.  Most audiences were expecting a generic retread of well-worn material, but director Rupert Wyatt gave us a smart, thoughtful and fairly tragic sci-fi adventure.  Andy Serkis stole the show as the motion-captured ape Caesar, and his amazing performance led many to say he should be nominated for an Oscar.  Following the success of the film around the world, it was no surprise Fox moved forward with a sequel, and last summer when the production was shooting in New Orleans, I got to participate in a group interview with Serkis during a break in filming. The first trailer for Matt Reeve's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has finally hit, and while it doesn't give much away, it does a good job of establishing the new status quo of the sequel, a post apocalyptic scenario a million miles away from the first movie, Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Andy Serkis' Casear doesn't make an appearance till the closing seconds of the trailer, but it does show off the fantatsic effects work showcased in the original. Check it out for yourself below. Here's a collection of photos that have surfaced from the set of Matt Reeve's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The images feature Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, Andy Serkis, and a bunch of other actors wearing motion-capture suits for the ape roles.

The sequel is set 15 years after the events of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. They also reveal that one part of the story will focus on a "group of human scientists who are struggling to survive alone in San Francisco." The other part of the story will center on "intelligent ape Caesar [who struggles to] maintain dominance over his kingdom." 

Fox has set the film for release on May 23rd, 2014. Hopefully it ends up being a solidly good sequel.

Fox has released a teaser photo for Matt Reeve's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Looks like the apes can shoot guns now. The image came with the following tag line:

Evolution becomes revolution.

The sequel will pick up where Rise of the Planet of the Apes left off. There are no details on the story or plot. We all know what the outcome will be; this is just the ride that's going to take us there. Here's a little synopsis:

“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” continues the story of how ultra-intelligent simian Caesar (Andy Serkis) presides over the fall of human civilization. After the apes break out of their facility, a virus breaks out that causes the collapse of human society. The new project is taking the story to the next level, with the apes on the path to emerge as society’s new rulers.

Fox went out and hired Mark Bomback to write the script for director Matt Reeve's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Bomback has worked on several high profile film projects in his career such as Live Free or Die Hard, Unstoppable, Total Recall, The Wolverine and even the 24 movie that will eventually happen. 

Bomback seems like he's a solid choice to script the sequel. I loved the first movie, and I'm looking forward to seeing where the story goes from where the first film left off. We know that it will continue the story of Caesar and his rise to power over the humans. Andy Serkis will return to reprise his role as Caesar, and Fox is set to release it on May 23rd, 2014.

Sony Pictures has just acquired the right to another Dracula film, which will once again tell the mythological origin of the famous bloodsucker. The pitch for the film came from screenwriter Jason Keller (Machine Gun Preacher, Mirror Mirror, The Tomb), and it will be produced by Joe Roth and Palak Patel. Can you believe Keller got paid a high six figures for this rehashed pitch!? It's Dracula for cryin' out loud! Why are studios paying this kind of money for something that has been made a thousand times before!? There's no information on what will make this story so different other than the fact that the studio is looking to launch a period franchise, which tells me they are looking to maybe give it an action-packed makeover. Right now I'm thinking Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes, but with Dracula. I guess we won't know until we know.

The Woman in Black is an upcoming 2012 supernatural thriller film directed by James Watkins and written by Jane Goldman, and is based on Susan Hill’s novel of the same name. It is produced by Hammer Film Productions who most recently released Matt Reeve’s Let Me In. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe, Ciarán Hinds, Janet McTeer, Sophie Stuckey, and Liz White, and is due to release in the U.S. on 3 February 2012 and in UK cinemas on 10 February 2012.

Back in April 2011, during the Kapow! Comic Con in London, the first official teaser trailer was unveiled. Another trailer of the film was attached to some showings of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, and a brand new worldwide teaser, depicting more footage from the movie, was later released in August. They were all great trailers but this latest and shortest, is by far my favorite.

Matt Reeves, director of Cloverfield and Let Me In, has been hired by Warner Brothers to direct the new Twilight Zone movie. It was previously thought that this incarnation of The Twilight Zone would be directed by a collection of directors (Christopher Nolan, Michael Bay, Alfonso Cuaron, Rupert Wyatt and David Yates) much like the previous Twilight Zone movie. Jason Rothenberg penned the script.

Deadline reports that this would indeed be a single movie directed by one person. and will be produced by Appian Way partners Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran, and Michael Ireland. Warner Bros’ Matt Cherniss is the exec.

Of the 43,741 people who ran the New York City Marathon on Sunday, a handful stood out, both for having claims to fame and for their reasons for running.
