Downton Abbey graduate Jessica Brown Findlay reveals the debt she owes to Maggie Smith, and do we really need so many films released?

Lady Sybil heads south

Jessica Brown Findlay can't believe she's about to make her movie debut in Albatross. "I had no idea what would happen when I got a little part in Downton Abbey," she told me. "Now I'm acting with Maggie Smith and the show's winning Emmys and I'm on posters." The husky-voiced star, 22, plays a wild child in the film, and is Lady Sybil Crawley in Downton.

"Maggie Smith is just inspirational – she told me to always give them a version of the line how you really feel it should be delivered, then do it their way: invariably, they'll end up using your way because it'll be the one with the most conviction." Using this advice she has now flown off for two weeks in...

Ryan Dunn returns from the dead in Living Will.

The 2010 comedy Living Will is sadly best acknowledged as the film that contains the final performance of the Jackass star Ryan Dunn, who was killed in a car accident.

The first movie directed by editor Matthew Lauyer, Living Will tells the story of a guy named Will (Gerard Haitz, The Umbrella), whose deceased best friend and roommate, Belcher (Dunn), returns from the dead as a cocky, mischievous and perverted ghost.

Belcher soon discovers his cousin Krista (April Scott, The Penthouse) has gotten romantically involved with Will and moved in with him. Feeling that Will has become domesticated since settling down, the still-dead Belcher goes to outrageous extremes to win back his buddy, including a series of all-out attempts to wholly destroy the couple’s relationship.

Exclusive Set Visit: Deon Taylor's Dark Christmas / Updates on Chain Letter and Dead Tone
It’s not often that you get an opportunity to talk extensively with both Bud Bundy and the Candyman all in one day. But that was just one of the treats from this writer’s visit to the set of Dark Christmas, which appropriately lensed last week in Sacramento.

Starring David Faustino as a darkly comedic version of himself looking to reinvent his public persona based on the success of his vindictive reality show called "Clown’d", Dark Christmas is one part of the next upcoming Nite Tales horror anthology from writer/director Deon Taylor.

Taylor’s first Nite Tales feature film anthology debuted in 2008, with a subsequent TV series spin-off that started in 2009. Dark Christmas also stars Tony Todd (interview here), April Scott, Miguel Nunez, Tiny Lister and former NFL star Ephraim Salaam.

While on set, this writer sat down with Taylor, Faustino, and Todd to discuss the details...
