A blow to the head leaves a nasty cut above his eye. He’s staggering. The referee has to step in, bringing it to an end. He’s had a decent run, but he’s going to have to accept that it’s over.

Plot: A retired boxer returns to the ring for one last shot at the title but only if he can make the weight. Holed up in a room in Las Vegas he embarks on an intensive and illegal weight cut program with an unscrupulous trainer.

And while the training is absolutely a key element in an individuals success, it can’t be discounted just how important weight cutting is in the sport.

While that may seem somewhat promising, we’ve learned that the installment won’t launch on Netflix until much later, proving to be the most extended wait for a new season of Outlander.

In the US, Outlander Season 8 won’t be available on Netflix until two years after the finale airs on Starz. So, if the 2026 window still holds, subscribers can expect the installment sometime in 2028. This, as you may know, is due to Netflix’s deal for the show with Sony Pictures Television, which can only license to the streamer in the US after an exclusivity period of two years post-finale with Starz.

While the series was never quite the awards magnet many hoped it would be for the network, it has gained an extremely strong following. It’s no surprise that a prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, received the green light to go into a full series. As the original series prepares to end in 2026, a new series looking to pave a future for the franchise kicks off with gorgeous craftwork and strong performances. While it still features some of Outlander‘s flaws and a built-in audience, Starz has another hit on its hands.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood Plot

The prequel series follows two timelines and intertwined stories across the centuries. After the death of Red Jacob MacKenzie (Peter Mullan), the power structures in the Scottish Highlands are changing.

Fans of Outlander got some big news at San Diego Comic-Con, and it might not be what they wanted to hear. During the panel for the show’s final season, the first footage from Season 8 was shown, and it included a shocking moment that has everyone talking.

In the clip, Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) reads a line from a book written by Frank Randall, Claire’s first husband. The line says: “War is coming to the backcountry, and James Fraser dies in it.” It’s a chilling moment that suggests Jamie may not survive the series finale.

Graham McTavish surprised Outlander fans at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, leaving fans roaring with delight.

McTavish, who played Dougal MacKenzie in multiple seasons of the original series, stood up during the Q&a portion of Outlander: Blood of My Blood. McTavish asked Sam Retford, the actor who will play the younger version of his character, a question to close the event.

“Hello, I’m Graham, and I have a question for Sam. First of all, congratulations on the wig and the beard. The fact that you wear it out in public is really, really, really tremendous,” McTavish touted as the crowd went wild.

He continued, “I haven’t seen any of the show yet, but I’m really looking forward to it. But I wanted to ask you, how did you dive into the soft, sensitive side of Dougal? Thank you for your time. I love your work.”

Starz dropped a teaser trailer going back in time to where it all began. However, and with no surprise, Droughtlander will continue until early 2026. Following the Season 7 finale cliffhanger, the video teases Jamie Fraser’s (Heughan) possible fate.

Unfortunately, Caitríona Balfe, who has played Claire Fraser since the show’s inception, was unable to attend the panel as she’s in production on a new project. She did pre-record a personal video message that sent fans into a roar of applause.
