In 2023, Huy won the Canh Dieu Vang (Vietnam's equivalent of the Academy Award) for Best Short Film for Bottom of the Pits. He also received the People's Choice Award for Best Performance for Ah Boy Yah!! at MAMM18 - VAFF 1013, where the film also won Best Short Film.
