Shonda H. Shankle

Shonda H. Shankle was born in Pompano Beach, Florida and raised in Decatur, Georgia. Shonda is a retired fire fighter of 21 years, she was the first African American female fire fighter hired from DeKalb county Georgia and the third African American female sworn in. Shonda has five life saves in her 21 year career, also Shonda was the first African American to join the DeKalb County Combat Challenge team ( fire fighters Olympics) and last but not least for many years she was the only African American fire fighter on the DeKalb county Honor Guard. A lot of first to only join at the young age of 34. Shonda is a loving wife to her husband Reginald Shankle Sr. and mother to two young men Preston and Ra'Saan Johnson. Shonda enjoys competition at any level with a background in basketball officiating she also enjoys acting and physical fitness. In her spare time Shonda loves the enjoyment of writing with three books under her belt and more to come. Her favorite past time is music anything Decatur/ATALIEN (Atlanta), Rhianna, and Cardi B.
