Lifetime’s ‘Secrets in the Foundation’ Offers a Bland, Familiar Haunting [Review]

It’s been a good run, but the streak of solid-to-great Lifetime titles has come to a screeching halt with Secrets in the Foundation. A bland, familiar, and poorly acted entry in the “Inspired by a true story” subgenre, the film’s most interesting element is the question of whether the house at the center of the story is, in fact, haunted. And to most horror fans, the answer will be very obvious, very early on.

Following the tragic death of the family patriarch due to cancer, mom Elena (Kristi Murdock) moves her daughter Sadie (Julia Terranova) and her father Jim (Ken Lyle) from LA to small town suburbia. They secure the giant old Crane house for a steal, but in no time the family discovers that realtor Malcomb (Christopher Sky) wasn’t forthcoming about the property’s sordid history.

Seven Managers Exit Agency The Green Room To Launch Untamed Artists LA, Group Cites “Irreconcilable Differences” As Reason For Split

Exclusive: The majority of the managers working at LA rep firm The Green Room have abruptly exited to launch management and production outfit Untamed Artists LA.

The move was made in the last few weeks and follows what the group described to us as “irreconcilable differences” with Green Room founder Alex Czuleger, who as of last week was understood to be the only manager left at the firm.

Czuleger, who set up The Green Room in 2014, declined to comment on the reason for the departures but noted that the Green Room would continue to operate as a management company and that replacements for the departing staff would be joining shortly. There is discrepancy between the two parties as to whether all agents left of their own accord.

The departing reps comprise Jemme Harper, Brenda Fisher, Chris Cope, Sasha Vassell, Nicole MacNaughton, Andrew Leon, and Eric Ziech. At least three are...

‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish,’ ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ Tie for Best Family Film at 2023 Movieguide Awards (Exclusive)

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 tied for best family movie at the 30th Annual Movieguide Awards, which honor “the best of family-friendly movies and television programs and spiritually uplifting entertainment.”

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power won the award for best mature audience television, and Resistance: 1942 won the award for best mature audience movies.

The honors also include the top award of the Grace Prizes for Most Inspiring Performances in Movies & TV, which are given to an actor or actress for the best performance in a movie or a television program. Candace Cameron Bure won the Grace for TV for A Christmas…Present, while Pat Boone won the Grace for movies for The Mulligan.

The Kairos Prize announced that Alice Bowden and David Hyde (Hope From the Ashes) were the winners of the 2022-23 scriptwriting competition that focuses exclusively on uplifting screenplays.
