Gábor Rohonyi

Gabor Rohonyi was born in Pécs, Hungary in 1966 and started to film at the age of 13. He graduated from the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest in 1992. From 1993 he directed several travel documentaries mostly about India and South East Asia, television programs and series. He directed music videos for the Hungarian pop and rock elite. His short film Buvesz (The Magician) came out in 1997. After that he started directing commercials, and he still does. His first feature film Konyec (The End) was shot in 2006 and won the Best Film Prize and Audience's Prize in 2007 Hungarian National Film Awards. The film was a success in Hungary and Japan as well. In 2013 he is working on the preproduction of his next feature Ginkgo which is a drama based on a true story.
