SmackDown delivered one of the best segments of WWE TV this year, as Paul Heyman and Cm Punk both returned. Punk will be the fifth man at Survivor Series, teaming with Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, and The Usos to take on Solo Sikoa's Bloodline. It was a night filled with excitement, that also saw Jade Cargill put through a car windscreen by a mystery assailant, with Chelsea Green capitalizing on Bianca Belair rushing to her partner's aid, by pinning Bianca Davenport and going to the next round of the Women US title tournament.

The movie is even more terrifying than Smile and ups the ante with the scares and gore; however, ensuring the sequel never becomes too dark is Miles Gutierrez-Riley's Joshua. As Skye's assistant, the character brings some much-needed comedic relief to the table.
We sat down with the Agatha All Along star earlier this week to learn more about how he approached this role and what it was like being an outsider to the chaos and madness that ensues when the Entity is unleashed.
Miles also reflects on working with Rosemarie DeWitt and his collaboration with filmmaker Parker Finn.

We can't recommend the sequel highly enough, particularly as it ups the ante and delivers some of the best scares we've seen on screen this year. At the helm is Smile franchise creator Parker Finn who returns to write and direct.

Deep Fear, the low-budget sharks-and-cocaine thriller, was filmed in Malta instead of the Caribbean where it is set. Malta's water SFX facility and tanks served as convincing stand-ins for Caribbean waters. Malta has a long history of being a popular filming location for various movies, including Ridley Scott's films like Gladiator and White Squall. Deep Fear's underwater cinematography was led by Mark Silk, known for his work in James Bond: No Time To Die.
Given the movie's surprising success on Netflix, many viewers are wondering where 2023's Deep Fear was filmed. The low-budget sharks-and-cocaine thriller stars Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick as Jackson, though the film's central protagonist is Madalina Diana Ghenea's Naomi, a world-class yachtswoman. An accomplished seafarer, Naomi sets out on a solo trip to meet Jackson in Grenada. However, in true survival film fashion, Naomi's three-day jaunt takes a dark turn when she's knocked off course by a storm.

Adapting Downtown Owl, the novel by Chuck Klosterman, co-directors Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater, who also wrote the screenplay, deliver a messy, aimless film. It has moments of intrigue that are quickly extinguished by the film’s attempts at doing too much. The film’s depiction of small town life in the early 80s is grim, but if it had centered on the ways in which its characters feel stuck it might have made up for everything else. The adaptation is a missed opportunity made up of scattered pieces with no clear vision.

She claims she’s giving her husband some space to finish writing, but there’s a palpable tension that lives beneath the surface. Stewart Thorndike’s horror-psychodrama starts with the main character carrying a chainsaw, ominously trudging across an empty, snowy parking lot outside an abandoned building. The scene is like a giant sign reading: Horror Tropes Ahead.
And Thorndike knowingly piles them on. The chainsaw-wielding Ruthie (Gayle Rankin) has arrived with three other people at the isolated hotel she has inherited from her grandmother for a last weekend before she sells it. The film never reclaims the droll touch at the start, which reveals that Ruthie uses the saw to cut a log lodged under the tires of the Uber that brought them there. Instead, Bad Things is smoothly competent and uninspired — or, more accurately, inspired by The Shining, from the hotel setting to the tracking shots along a narrow corridor and a set of ghostly twins.
Thorndike’s major twist is that the four main characters are queer — three of them women,...

Much like the sci-fi show's ambitious plot, The Expanse cast grew larger with each succeeding season, and the sixth and last season is no exception. Based on the book series of the same name written by Ty Franck and Daniel Abraham under the pen name James S.A. Corey, The Expanse centers on the vast political conflicts between the powers of Earth, Mars, and the Asteroid Belt 300 years in the future. In The Expanse season 6, these conflicts culminate in a system-wide war waged by Belter terrorist Marco Inaros and the Free Navy, whose asteroid attack on Earth has left the planet in shambles.
Newly reinstated Un Secretary General Chrisjen Avasarala looked to coordinate the joint Earth-Mars fleet with James Holden and the crew of the Rocinante in an effort to defeat the Free Navy. Concurrently, Camina Drummer and what remained of her crew evaded Marco's forces in the Belt after betraying...

The following article contains discussions of slut-shaming, fatphobia, transphobia, and insensitivity about mental health.
Today, a How I Met Your Mother rewatch could strike even long-time viewers of the show very differently compared to when they first saw the sitcom. Beginning in 2005 and ending in 2014, How I Met Your Mother was indeed a product of its time. As Ted, Barney, Lily, Marshall, and Robin approach their 30's while living and working in New York City, their adventures - in hindsight - come with more than a few harsh realities.
While the How I Met Your Mother spinoff How I Met Your Father does a fine job of continuing the story, loyal audiences will always come back to the original sitcom. However, for those planning a How I Met Your Mother rewatch, viewers should be warned that there are some jokes, storylines and characters that won't sit well with them this time.

Gotham Knights is The CW's cheapest DC series ever, according to a new report.
The report comes via The Hollywood Reporter. It cites unnamed sources close to The CW who claim that Gotham Knights costs less to produce than any other DC-inspired show in the network's history. If true, this would mean that the likes of Smallville, Superman & Lois and Naomi, as well as the entire slate of "Arrowverse" programs all boasted bigger per-season budgets than Gotham Knights. That said, The CW is yet to publicly comment on Gotham Knights' production costs, which means that this report should be taken with a grain of salt for now.

According to casino.org, world gambling statistics show that around 26% of the population gamble. That means around 1.6 billion people worldwide gamble and 4.2 billion gamble at least once every year. Jess Dang, director of “Surrender” states, “It has taken me ten years to admit that I'm a compulsive gambler. I have silently struggled with a gambling addiction for the past decade and it is finally something that I am learning to live without”. As such, she is actually one who can really talk about the issue, which is exactly what she tries to do with the particular short.
“Surrender” is screening at New Filmmakers Los Angeles
The movie starts in a barely lit setting, in an apartment, where Naomi, a young Asian-American, is evidently in angst about something. The story than jumps back in time, with her as a child witnessing her father assaulting her mother. The crisis passes, and in the next scene,...

Sword Art Online is a legendary anime series with a massive fanbase. One reason for Sword Art Online's success is the work of its director, Tomohiko Ito, who handled the show's first two seasons. Outside of Sword Art Online, Ito also directed a criminally overlooked movie that Sword Art Fans will love.
Released in 2019, Hello World is a film written by Mado Nozaki and produced by Graphinica, the studio known for working on Record of Ragnarok and Tokyo Mew Mew New. Et has confirmed that embattled country singer Jimmie Allen has been dropped by his music label and he’s been yanked from the upcoming CMA Fest lineup. The moves come just hours after Allen was accused of rape, sexual abuse and harassment in a lawsuit filed by a woman Thursday in Tennessee federal court.
In a statement to Et, a spokesperson for Bbr Music Group confirmed severing ties with Allen. “In light of today’s allegations against Jimmie Allen, Bbr Music Group has decided to suspend all activity with him, effective immediately,” the statement read.
Et also confirmed Allen will not be part of the CMA Fest lineup when it kicks off in Allen’s hometown of Nashville in June.

Ava DuVernay and Warner Bros. Television are parting ways.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the prolific multihyphenate has opted to end her overall deal with the studio following the conclusion of her five-year deal. The rich pact, which DuVernay signed in late 2018, officially ends May 31. Insiders say DuVernay is expected to focus more on her current film slate. It’s unclear if the writer-director-producer behind Caste and helmer of A Wrinkle in Time will set up shop with a TV deal elsewhere.
Sources say Warners and DuVernay’s decision to let the deal expire was a mutual one and was made months ago — before studios suspended overall deals with writers amid the ongoing labor strife between the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, which represents the studios and streamers.

Ava DuVernay is plotting a new path in television as her overall deal with Warner Bros. TV is coming to a close at the end of May.
The Selma director, who is behind series such as Netflix’s When They See Us and Colin In Black & White as well as OWN series Queen Sugar, signed a five-year deal with the studio in 2018, worth around $100M.
We hear there’s no drama and that it was a mutual decision to part ways. DuVernay is currently in post-production on her film Caste, which she is directing with stars Vera Farmiga, Niecy Nash, Nick Offerman, Jon Bernthal, Audra McDonald and Connie Nielsen, and we hear that her focus is currently on the feature world.
There are no details yet where she plans to move her television deal to.

The following contains spoilers for Season 3 of Star Trek: Picard, now streaming on Paramount+.
Before becoming the captain of the USS Enterprise-g in the series finale of Picard, Seven of Nine was torn between two worlds. Assimilated by the Borg as a child, on Star Trek: Voyager Seven of Nine didn't hate her captors like some might think. In fact, it wasn't until Season 6, Episode 9 "The Voyager Conspiracy" that Seven finally started prioritizing the part of her that's human over the part of her that's Borg. The episode centers around a new idea Seven of Nine has to improve her efficiency and ability to "assimilate" data about the USS Voyager.
Because she still has some Borg parts within her, Seven of Nine regenerates in one of those standing alcoves rather than sleeping. She modifies this device to serve as a "cortical processing subunit" that would allow her to absorb the Voyager database while she sleeps.

‘Succession’ Season 4, Episode 7 Recap & Ending, Explained: Is Kendall Going To Betray His Siblings?
A platter of sliders kept from acting out with little American flag toothpicks, tiny portions of fries peppered with flakey salt, and an embarrassingly unimpressive selection of reds—it’s the tailgate party at the monster house, and America itself is on the menu. It’s getting harder and harder to campaign for any one of the Roy kids when the passing of their cult leader has done nothing to stop their genetic toxicity from making marionettes out of them. While I’m not particularly concerned that the end of Succession may be approaching a Game Of Thrones fate, I’m not deluding myself with the expectation of a classic “good vs. bad” showdown. The sooner you come to terms with the fact that the show that you love unconditionally bears no note of morality, the better.

The following contains spoilers for Season 3 of Star Trek: Picard, now streaming on Paramount+.
In her journey to the bridge of the USS Enterprise on the Star Trek: Picard series finale, Seven of Nine had many important relationships. However, one of the most important ones is often overlooked, especially when considering her struggle to move on from being a Borg.
One of the hallmarks of Star Trek: Voyager was that the crew was more like family than other Starfleet ships. Neelix, the Talaxian morale officer on the ship, was an early friend to Seven. The holographic doctor was also helpful to her. Near the end of the series, she started a romantic relationship with Commander Chakotay, but it never felt right. Of course, Captain Kathryn Janeway was incredibly important in Seven's life, perhaps her most direct mentor. Picard made it clear that Tuvok was her close friend. First lady Jill Biden had a glamourous plus-one for the coronation of King Charles III on Saturday, May 6. While President Joe Biden didn't attend the historic event, his wife and his granddaughter Finnegan Biden were on hand for ceremony.
Finnegan is the 23-year-old daughter of Hunter Biden and his ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle, and one of Jill and the president's seven grandchildren. She has an older sister, Naomi, who was married on the White House lawn in 2022, and a younger sister, Maisy. Additionally, Hunter shares son Beau with his second wife, Melissa Cohen, and a daughter with Lunden Alexis Roberts.
Both the first lady and Finnegan chose simple but gorgeous outfits for the coronation. Jill arrived in a light-blue skirt and jacket two-piece, which she accessorized with gloves and a matching bow in her hair. Meanwhile, her granddaughter wore a stunning pastel yellow dress and cape, along with a yellow floral headpiece.

Law & Order: Svu begins with two debate team chaperones, the Youngs, driving as a girl named Naomi prepares for a debate, and bemoans being paired with her rude partner, Todd. On the bus to the debates, Todd proves his lack of character with crude jokes as another kid, Booker, comes to Naomi's defense. Naomi and Todd's team wins, so later at the hotel, Naomi gets a knock on her door; it's Todd and the other boys. They invite her to party. She eventually agrees but is later seen hurrying away looking visibly upset. Naomi makes her way onto the school bus and slashes at the seats, furiously stabbing, before setting them on fire as the bus explodes.

Is it me, or are the opening sequences on Svu getting longer?
The opening sets the stage, giving viewers a glimpse into the victim's world during a traumatic assault. But lately, that window into the survivor's life seems to be getting longer and longer.
Despite how much happened before Naomi set the bus on fire on Law & Order: Svu Season 24 Episode 20, this one offered a powerful hour of television involving a troubled young survivor whose coaches had groomed and abused her.
.
It didn't occur to me that the Youngs had been messing with Naomi, but their relationship seemed weird in retrospect.
They seemed so much like her parents that I was confused when her mother arrived at the police station. During the car ride, they acted like it, encouraging her and giving her advice about how to deal with the boys on the team harassing her.

Ken Marino credits his pal Adam Scott for making the unlikely and unexpected “Party Down” revival a reality. “Adam helped guide this and make this happen in a real way,” he tells Variety’s Awards Circuit podcast. “I think everybody in that cast recognized how special it was, and to just kind of go back and to get to do some more, to be with these people again, creatively, it’s a real gift.”
The first two seasons of “Party Down” aired on Starz in 2009 and 2010; the revival takes place a decade after the show’s last episode and features the returns of Marino as Ron, the slightly clueless catering manager who now owns the business — well, running it out of his van — and Scott as Henry, the sardonic failed actor who’s now a teacher and working on the side with Party Down to help pay for his alimony.

It doesn’t look like Captain Olivia Benson’s (Mariska Hargitay) usual approach when trying to help a potential victim is going to work in the May 4 episode of Law & Order: Svu. In “Debatable,” Benson tries to help a student after she’s assaulted on a field trip, and Sergeant Odafin “Fin” Tutuola (Ice T) suspects a witness in the case may not be telling the whole truth. TV Insider has an exclusive sneak peek of Benson and Detective Grace Muncy (Molly Burnett) talking to Naomi (Olivia Daponde) after the debate team student sets a bus on fire during a school trip. Benson offers the teen snacks, but “I told the other detective I’m good,” Naomi says. “You’re on the debate team, right? All about getting down to the truth? It’s a lot like our job,” Muncy says before asking why she set the bus on fire.

It’s a buddy comedy that is packed with action. Written and directed by Jesse V. Johnson, the film also stars John Malkovich, Nick Moran, Patrick Bergin, and Dean Jagger.
The Expanse fans will be thrilled to see Naomi Nagata and Detective Joe Miller back together for this one. This time they work much more closely, in roles that we have never seen them tackle before. Some people say the age of the movie star is over. One actor who did not seem to get the memo is Margot Robbie. The actress has mapped out a spectacular career as a modern Hollywood A-lister, taking part in commercial blockbuster fare and critically-acclaimed projects that have both critics and general audiences buzzing and looking forward to Robbie's every new project.
What's even more remarkable is that the actress managed to reach such heights in a relatively short period. Robbie was an unknown quantity in Hollywood until 2013 when she got a dream opening opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese's ode to stocks corruption, The Wolf of Wall Street. Let us take a look at how Robbie ensured her role as Naomi Lapaglia in the movie would make an impact by doing things few other newcomers would have dared to do.
