Marios Ioannou
Marios Ioannou is an award winning actor. He was born in Paphos, Cyprus and graduated from the National Theatre School of Drama in Athens in 1994. Since then, he has undertaken numerous and challenging projects in theatre, film and television. He has appeared in over 30 films with starring and supportive roles and has established a reputation for being a transformative actor. He performs in English and Greek.

In 2004, he won the award for leading actor for his role as Syrian illegal immigrant, Mustafa, in 'Kalabush' (Dir. Adwnis Florides, Theodwros Nicolaides) and in 2012, he received an honorary mention for his role as a Cockney Turkish Cypriot, Andy, in 'Fish n Chips' (Dir. Elias Demetriou). Hollywood Reporter, described his performance in the film as subtle and endearing.

Marios loves to challenge his talent by playing diverse roles in both film and theatre. A few examples in film are a heartbroken transwoman in 'Tsikitgklon' - 'The Fairy and the man' by M. Mettis, a fanatic nationalist in 'Vallyants of Samothrace' by P.Tsarouchas, a sensitive terrorist in 'Greenhouse' by I. Mylonas, an Albanian cunning prisoner in 'Eduart' by A. Andwniou, an Italian cook in 'The Photographers' by N. Koundouros and many more.

He is skilled in dancing and singing and his favorite hobby is to draw from his heart. He loves to improvise for hours on a theme or a role.

He believes that in a commercial world, the role of Art has an important part to play. He does hope that in his lifetime, he gets the opportunities to exhume his artistic gifts in the best way possible, and leave a bright mark in the world's mosaic.

He is a big fan of the phrase 'when the going gets tough, the tough gets going, but when it becomes over the top tough, he meditates in nature'.
