Steffen Haars

Writer, Director Steffen Haars (1980) had a huge success with the New Kids movies, which set in the small town of Maaskantje where Steffen and his younger brother actor Tim Haars grew up. 1.6 Million people flocked the Dutch theaters to see New Kids Turbo (2010) and Its sequel New Kids Nitro a year later, written and directed by Steffen Haars and Flip van der Kuil. Austins Fantastic Fest awarded New Kids Turbo with Best Director, New Kids Nitro won Best Comedy. In 2013 Bros Before Hos had its cinema release, starring brother Tim Haars next to Sylvia Hoeks (Bladerunner 2049). In 2017 Ron Goossens Low Budget Stuntman came out. The film, again starring brother Tim Haars, received lyrical reviews in Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.

2024 was the year that Steffen & Flips fifth feature Krazy House, starring Nick Frost and Alicia Silverstone, premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival.

This is also the year that Steffen Haars slasher comedy Get Away, written by Nick Frost, will have its world premiere at Fantastic Fest. Get Away will then be released exclusively in theaters, followed by its Shudder debut in 2025.
