British actor Jamie Thomas King is adapting James Titcombe’s memoir Joshua’s Story: Uncovering the Morecambe Bay Maternity Scandal for the big screen.

King, best known for star turns in Mad Men and The Tudors, is penning a screenplay for Trust, a movie to be produced along with wife and Canadian actress Tamara Podemski as part of their newly-launched Blackbird Productions banner.

“Right now, I do not have intention to act in or direct the project. But yes, I became interested in the subject following Benjamin’s death and subsequent lawsuit,” King told The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday.

In 2016, the preventable death of their second son, Benjamin, due to medical negligence occurred five days after Podemski gave birth after a delayed caesarean section. But a Walking Shadow: Franco’s Faulkner Redux Merely Serviceable

Continuing to thumb his nose at naysayers, James Franco plunges onward into his own particular directorial abyss with his second William Faulkner adaptation, The Sound and the Fury. Much like its predecessor, 2013’s As I Lay Dying, the actor-filmmaker manages a troubled synopsis of Faulkner’s enigmatic text but still remains unable to strike a visual resonance necessitating his undertaking.

Ambitious and a bit pretentious, Franco’s cinematic hubris may know no bounds, though it’s still refreshing to see him shirk the limiting lasso of mainstream sensibility in his personal crusade to create something meaningful. That said, there are several moments reaching a certain poetic pitch, collapsing a quartet of perspectives into a simplified triptych. Complex characterizations and the narrative resonance of Faulkner aren’t quite intact with this otherwise faithful transplant, but its first and third acts maintain a watchable melodramatic energy.

Taylor Swift released her latest music video on Friday, but it seems the pop icon may have been inspired by another cultural phenomenon.

Fans were quick to point out how Swift’s artsy, ethereal video for new single "Style" resembles the opening credits for HBO’s cult crime drama True Detective.

The central imagery for both videos features profile shots of the "main characters" overlaid with other artsy video. In fact, the "Style" video opens on a side profile of Swift with an inlaid shot of a man standing on a beach, very similar to imagery of True Detective star Matthew McConaughey from the show’s credits.

For horror fans who love to celebrate holidays in their own ways, this upcoming weekend couldn’t be any more delightful. We get a Friday the 13th the day before Valentine’s Day on Saturday the 14th. Okay, so some folks reading this might not have thirty years of horror movie-watching expertise under their belt like I do. Let me give you a rundown or schedule of events for the weekend’s festivities.

Throughout the month of December, we will be highlighting a film a day that has some tie into the holiday somehow. Some titles will be obvious, others won’t be. Pop's princess of 2014 Taylor Swift turned 25 and celebrated last night with some of her most famous friends including Jay Z, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Haim, and supermodel Karlie Kloss. Dimension Films (The Weinstein Company) released their new action/crime/drama film, "Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For" into theaters yesterday, August 21st, and the top movie critics have delivered all their reviews. It turned out to be a mixed bag across the board, getting an overall 44 score out of a possible 100 across 29 reviews at the metacritic.com site. There is a new red-band trailer for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, and I am not totally sure why it’s a red-band trailer. I guess it’s because Eva Green is naked a few times, but she’s in silhouette, so it’s not like you can actually see any of her bits. And yes, there are several scenes of Jessica Alba stripping, but she is still the most modest stripper in human history, so… I don’t know. If you work at a place that lets you watch atmospheric gangster types hold guns and angst all over the screen while the women around them wear little to nothing, then it might be safe for work?

I have just enough enthusiasm for this movie to get me to go see it; I loved the first one but feel they waited far too long to bring the gang back and from what I’m seeing, they offer little reward for the wait other than the same old. Still, it looks great and should be fun; I wonder though how many people will actually go see it and fear this could be a bomb waiting to happen. I hope I’m wrong.
