The NCIS cast has an interesting addition for Season 22, Episode 14.

The new installment airs on March 3, presenting a possible new love interest for Dr. Jimmy Palmer.

At least, that’s how CBS and the promos are making it look. And why shouldn’t Palmer find happiness after being single again?

Palmer lost his wife, Breena, a few years ago. She got sick, and the writers had the character die off-screen (in between episodes).

Palmer struggled for a time but had to be strong for his daughter, Victoria.

When Agent Jessica Knight joined the team, she turned Palmer’s head, and the duo struck up a romantic relationship. It ended when Knight got a promotion, and Palmer struggled with losing her.

The NCIS writers have teased that there are still feelings between Palmer and Knight, but a new avenue is about to be explored.

"NCIS" is without question one of the most successful shows on TV today, if not ever. The CBS police procedural has run for an astounding 22 seasons and counting, with nearly 500 episodes to its name. That's even more than "Criminal Minds." One of the show's key characters is Jimmy Palmer. Played by actor Brian Dietzen, Jimmy has been there from the beginning, first appearing towards the end of season 1. Since then, he's been a staple of the series. Unfortunately, Mrs. Palmer didn't get so lucky.

Palmer deserves a proper goodbye after losing his wife and missing farewells from former colleagues. Until NCIS Season 22 sheds light on Knight's status, her departure may not be a cause for concern.

Despite a significantly shorter season, NCIS season 21 was jampacked. On top of its weekly cases, things were particularly rough for the majority of Alden Parker's team. Nick Torres almost went to prison for a murder that he didn't commit, Ducky Mallard, died, and Director Leon Vance was shot in the NCIS 1000th episode, among others. So at the end of the year, the procedural wrapped up with a pretty straightforward case.

Since Brian Dietzen became a series regular on NCIS in 2012, at the beginning of Season 10, Dietzens character, medical examiner Jimmy Palmer, has become an increasingly prominent figure in the series, in which Dietzen is one of only two cast members, along with Sean Murray, who has appeared in each of the shows 21 seasons. Palmer originally served as the assistant to the venerable Dr. Donald Ducky Mallard, played by David McCallum, before becoming the NCIS chief medical examiner in 2019, in Season 16, when Ducky left the position and assumed the newfound position of NCIS historian.

Dietzen and Palmers seniority on NCIS intensified in the Season 21 premiere episode, which ends with NCIS Special Agent Alden Parker receiving a call from a distressed Palmer, who informs Parker that Ducky died in his sleep.

All the pieces are in place for Rollins to return if Law & Order: Svu decides to bring her back full-time.

Rollins has helped with a few cases before, but there was a difference: she had a full-time job elsewhere.

On Law & Order: Svu Season 25 Episode 11, Rollins was bored out of her mind during her first day of unemployment, but an Svu case came along. The only thing standing in her way now is Benson.

Mariska Hargitay said in a recent interview that she was lobbying to get Rollins back on set for Season 26. Hargitay had tried to keep the character in the cast when Rollins was written out the first time but was overruled.

No new deal has been inked yet, but Svu did a great job setting everything up so Rollins can either recur more regularly or return to Svu.

Welcome back to the big orange room! While it was nice to get more of Torres' backstory, NCIS Season 21 Episode 1 felt a little bit of a backslide for Nick.

He got sober and was in a really good place after all of his sessions with Dr. Grace during NCIS Season 20.

He managed to get past his pain when Bishop and then Gibbs left. This felt like we were revisiting the old Nick.

But hopefully, this is a temporary setback, and with Riva gone, Nick can finally heal. It was terrific to meet his sister.

The actresses who played young Lucia and current Lucia were perfectly cast; they really looked similar -- nicely done casting people!

But the biggest shock of the episode was the lack of the elevator ding.

I count on hearing that ding every episode, and this is the first in my memory without it. I hope...
