“Agatha All Along” wasn’t perfect.
In his review of the series, IndieWire’s Ben Travers pointed out that the the first four episodes stretched the welcome of a slow burn, that the stakes weren’t high enough and the energy lacking in what should have been a full-bodied villain adventure.
But unlike so many franchise series on Disney+ and from Marvel in particular, things got better in this second series from Jac Schaeffer. Things got good. By midseason — just a few weeks in, thanks to a two-episode premiere — viewers learned the identity of the mysterious Teen (Joe Locke), which wasn’t terribly shocking but also ostensibly wasn’t meant to be. For a show that began by focusing largely on a literal road, the journey is a critical piece of “Agatha All Along.” Yeah, that kid is probably who you think — but how did he come to be who...

Frank Grillo, who played Crossbones in the MCU, was nearly fired by Marvel Studios multiple times for leaking news and spoilers during his tenure in the franchise. Grillo made his MCU debut in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as Brock Rumlow, a sleeper agent for Hydra. After Captain America dropped a literal building on him, the character somehow returned (Palpatine moment) in Captain America: Civil War, this time donning an adapted version of his comic book costume, and going by the moniker Crossbones. With the MCU being the biggest movie franchise of all-time, and with scoopers and paparazzi endlessly desperate to leak footage, secrecy is of the upmost importance to Marvel Studios, and it nearly cost Grillo his job.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, Frank Grillo discussed his new role in the DC Universe, and looked back at his turbulent time in the MCU. Grillo will voice Rick Flag Snr in the...

Agatha All Along just set an unlikely new achievement for the MCU and you won't believe whose idea to bare it all was!
Caution: This article contains Spoilers for the premiere of Agatha All Along.
When last we saw Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), she was defeated in WandaVision by Wanda Maximoff (Elisabeth Olsen), who had embraced her powers as the Scarlet Witch. After being beaten, Wanda punished Agatha by wiping her memories of her true past and making her believe she was weirdo neighbor Agnes.
As Agatha All Along opened, Agnes was suddenly a cop in a moody forest town, complete with opening credits like an adaptation of a Danish crime show. She was investigating the murder of a woman aided by an FBI agent (Aubrey Plaza) who kept dropping weird hints about her.
Piecing together clues and visions, Agnes realized the murder victim in her case was actually Wanda...

September means networks are rolling out the good stuff following the summer blahs, and Netflix’s September offerings are no exception.
In addition to “The Perfect Couple” (see below) the streamer’s September offerings include “Emily in Paris” Season 4 Part 2, starring Lily Collins, as well as the downright charming “Nobody Wants This,” a unique rom-com starring millennial aughts TV gods Adam Brody and Kristen Bell — this one will be all over your social media feed, so make sure to binge it the second it drops.
On the movie front, in addition to a slew of old favorites, film fanatics’ best bet is likely “His Three Daughters,” a festival fave starring Elisabeth Olsen, Carrie Coon, and Natasha Lyonne. The film, about three very different siblings coming together in their father’s dying days, is expected to be a major awards contender after premiering at TIFF last year.

For the Gala section at Roy Thomson Hall, there’s world bows for two music specials: the Andrea Bocelli biopic Andrea Bocelli: Because I Believe, a doc about the Italian tenor by director Cosima Spender; and Thom Zimny’s Bruce Springsteen doc for Disney+ and Hulu, Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band. Zimny was in Toronto last year with his Sylvester Stallone documentary Sly for Netflix.

In the sixth season of The Handmaid's Tale, Nick and Luke are on the chopping block, with their deaths likely as part of June's story. Nick, who was manipulated by the Americans, may die making a noble sacrifice to protect June. Luke's story could highlight deadly anti-refugee sentiment in season 6, suggesting that his death, along with Nick's, is inevitable.
I can hardly believe that after nearly eight years, Hulu's Emmy-winning The Handmaid's Tale will finally come to an end with its sixth season. Based on Margaret Atwood's classic dystopian novel of the same name, The Handmaid's Tale centers on June Osborne (Elisabeth Olsen), an American woman who is abducted by the Republic of Gilead an ultra-conservative patriarchal society that's rooted in religious ideology. In addition to stripping women of their rights and personhood, Gilead enslaves women like June as handmaids, assigning them to high-ranking families and tasking them...

Thor and Loki's reunion in the latest episode of Marvel's What If... has sparked fan calls for the pair to come together again in live-action. The episode also features the return of Wanda Maximoff, leading fans to speculate that the multiverse could play a part in her return, just like Loki. Thor's popularity has endured despite criticism of his portrayal in Thor: Love & Thunder, while Loki has had a complex and varied journey throughout the MCU. A reunion between the two beloved characters remains uncertain.
Thor and Loki, portrayed by Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston respectively, are two of the most-loved and iconic characters of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is something that has once again become apparent with their on-screen reunion in the latest episode of Marvel’s What If…? has seen fans calling for the pair to come together again in live-action in the near future.
