Warning: Spoilers for Blood Hunters #5Whereas the United States has Captain America, England proudly proclaims Captain Britain as its paragon of justice. However, while Betsy Braddock still maintains the title, she renounced her allegiance to the United Kingdom during the Fall of Krakoa. Thankfully, Marvel just introduced her obvious successor.
Blood Hunters #5 by Erica Schultz, Chris Campana, and Robert Gill is the final installment in the Blood Hunters’ mission to drive back Varnae’s remaining vampiric forces from New York City. After Dagger is kidnapped by the Bloodcoven, Elsa Bloodstone, Hallows’ Eve, and White Widow launch a full offensive against the godly vampires.
When the fight begins to turn against the heroes’ favor, Bloodstone equips Hallows’ Eve’s Captain America mask. Magically, Elsa is given Steve Rogers’s powers and dons a new patriotic suit. Still bound to her Bloodgem, Elsa becomes an enchanted super soldier, and she loves the experience.

Warning: Contains Spoilers for Blood Hunters #4The Spider-Man Miles Morales has been one of Marvels greatest additions to its collection of modern-day heroes, an inspiring character who shows readers that anybody and everybody can be a hero, no matter what the world says. However, an infectious curse has burrowed itself into this Spider-Man, threatening to transform Miles into one of Marvels greatest monsters.
While the Endless Night that plagued the Earth during Marvels Blood Hunt event is over, the effects of those horrors still run deep among those who survived. Blood Hunters #4 continues the Blood Hunters mission to rid the streets of New York City from the vampiric evil that the Chthonic Bloodcoven continues to spread.
However, Dagger has been captured and Spider-Man remains afflicted with the vampires curse. Miless condition is only getting worse, with no sign of getting better. Blades corruption was already apocalyptic. Spider-Mans will be far worse.

Warning: contains spoilers for Blood Hunters #3!A former supporting character within Spider-Man lore, Hallows Eve is quickly becoming a Marvel powerhouse - one who could rival the likes of Thor himself. Empowered by Limbos dark magic and a drive to prove herself, Hallows Eve has the spark to become one of Marvels most powerful beings. All that stands between her and godly power is the right Halloween mask.
Blood Hunters #3 - from Erica Schultz and Robert Gill subtly reveals Eve's growing potential. In order to save Dagger, Eve reveals her witch mask - a tool which instantly grants her the ability to use magic, despite her lack of mystic knowledge.
Hallows' Eve gains new powers whenever she wears different masks, and the witch mask turns Eve into a powerful spellcaster. While Hallows' Eve is a relatively new character (at least in her costumed guise), her rapidly expanding abilities make her a truly powerful hero.

Miles Morales may have surpassed Peter Parker as the most powerful Spider-Man in Marvel Comics due to his new vampiric abilities. Marvel's Blood Hunt crossover makes a huge change to its vampire lore, revealing that the undead blood-drinkers gain superhuman abilities by feeding on mutant blood, radically upgrading them into an even more major threat to the X-Men and the Marvel Universe than they already were. Wolverine's new Krakoan diving suit helps him conquer one of his biggest weaknesses, water, opening up a whole new battlefield where he can now be "the best there is at what he does," just like on land. Warning: contains spoilers for X-Force #43!Super-soldiers aren’t a new concept in Marvel lore, but X-Force are dealing with soldiers unlike anything the world has seen before - including Captain America. Gone are the days of Captain America's enhanced speed and strength putting him a cut above the rest; Mikhail Rasputin’s super-soldiers are lethal on a whole new scale. Krakoa has fallen, but there are plenty of mutants left alive to suffer under the disturbing powerset of Marvel's new mutant-killing super-soldiers.
In X-Force #43 - by Benjamin Percy, Robert Gill, Guru-eFX, and Joe Caramagna - Mikhail Rasputin, Colossus’ brother, makes his return while surrounded by a thousand of his henchmen. Speaking through the Chronicler, he lists the myriad abilities of the "Super-Soldiers" he purchased from the mad geneticist known as the Man with the Peacock Tattoo. Warning: Spoilers for X-Force #42!Throughout their uncanny publication history, the Marvel Comics heroes known as the X-Men have seen their fair share of dark timelines and more than their fair share of corrupted team members. Warning: Spoilers for X-Force #40As far as chatty, and arguably annoying, Marvel Comics characters go, Deadpool is usually at the top of every fan’s list. Called the Merc With A Mouth for a reason, Wade Wilson is well-known for his inability to keep said mouth shut, even during the worst of times. But a new confrontation with an X-Men hero nobody saw coming may have just introduced Krakoa’s newest odd couple duo.
X-Force #40 by Benjamin Percy, Paul Davidson, Robert Gill, and Guru-eFX sees the return of the one and only Quentin Quire to the fold. Warning: Spoilers ahead for Alpha Flight #2 and X-Force #44When it comes to Marvel Comics’ X-Men, the publisher’s most uncanny heroes have faced few enemies as iconic as the mutant-hunting Sentinels. First created in X-Men #14 by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Jay Gavin, these mechanized menaces have been hounding the titular team since their early days and have long remained one of the human’s most effective weapons against Homo superior. But like their genetically gifted foes, the Sentinels have continued to evolve – and their newest incarnations are bad news for the X-Men.

The Boys is an entire franchise dedicated to absolutely trashing established superheroes, including the entire superhero genre itself, and Wolverine is no exception. What is interesting about The Boys’ parody of Wolverine, however, is that Marvel actually agrees with it, as The Boys’ biggest Wolverine insult just became official Marvel canon.
Wolverine is a tragic and complex character whose life has been filtered through the worst of what humanity has to offer. The rage inside of Wolverine is ever-present, which fuels him in battle yet plagues him in life, though it also pushes him to be the best hero he can be. While these traits add to his intriguing character development, The Boys boiled it all down to ‘angry little guy is angry and little’ with its parody of Wolverine, Groundhawk. Groundhawk is aesthetically reminiscent of Wolverine, but he has hammers for hands instead of claws extending from his fists.

Warning: Spoilers for X-Men (2021) #22!
Mutant resurrection has been both the blessing and the bane of the X-Men during the Krakoan era, but now this incredible technology seems to have sown the seeds of their own destruction. While mutant resurrection imprints a copy of a dead mutant's psyche into a newly grown clone body, the corpse left behind still retains all its inherent mutant gifts - making each fallen mutant a treasure trove of easily weaponized biotechnology. Now, the X-Men are forced to confront the horrors their attempt at cheating death has enabled.
Gerry Duggan, Joshua Cassara, and Marte Garcia's X-Men (2021) #22, 'Bring on the Bad Guys,' shows that the anti-mutant group Orchis is gaining political and popular ground against the mutants of Krakoa, even having the gall to open up mutant 'curing' stations as pop-up stands in major cities. A future form of Wolverine has turned his immortality on its head, making it a living nightmare. Over the years, fans have met a number of Wolverine variants from the future, but in X-Force #40, the team, sent forward to the future by Quentin Quire, meets another future version of Logan–who has been reduced to a mindless half-man, half-machine shell of his former self.
X-Force #40 is written by Benjamin Percy, drawn by Paul Davidson and Robert Gill, colored by Guru eFX and lettered by Joe Caramagna. A future Quentin Quire known as Old Man Omega has arrived from a future timeline, to warn X-Force of the danger that Hank McCoy presents. He then brings the team, including Wolverine (Laura), Omega Red, Sage, Colossus, and Domino, to his time, where they are promptly attacked by hideous, bloodthirsty blue creatures–who bear more than a passing resemblance to the Beast.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for X-Force #40Since the X-Men began their new lives on the all-mutant island nation of Krakoa, few have had it worse off than Colossus. Following his death and subsequent resurrection, Colossus has unknowingly been a victim of mental manipulation by his estranged brother Mikhail and his ally known as Chronicler. However, a time-traveling mission with Colossus's new X-Force team breaks him free of Mikhail and Chronicler's control, giving him temporary freedom and hinting at what's to come.
In X-Force #40, by Benjamin Percy, Paul Davidson, and Robert Gill, a time-traveling "old man" version of Quentin Quire shocks the team by arriving from the future and requesting the team's help in cleaning up what he refers to as a "cataclysmic mess." Colossus has recently joined X-Force and follows the team on their quest to help old man Omega repair the corrupted future brought on by Beast and his own dark ambition.

Warning: contains Spoilers for X-Force #40!As one of Marvel’s most popular heroes, Wolverine is famous for appearing in as many comics as possible at any given time - to the point that Deadpool has speculated that's his real mutant power. But unfortunately for Logan, that status often comes with some pretty bare-bones portrayals missing many of his nuances. More often than fans would like, Wolverine is reduced to a one-dimensional killing machine.
Now, X-Force #40 by Benjamin Percy, Paul Davidson, Robert Gill, and Guru-eFX takes this depiction and leans into it, turning the future Logan into a head in a jar with Adamantium claws that emerge from a slot, as he leads the last of a resistance against Beast, who has become the evil God of All Mutants. Review – Valiant’s Book of Death #1
Valiant’s Book of Death kicks off as a bit of a mixed bag.
There’s a lot I like here but what doesn’t vibe with me is hard to shake and is directly related to how amazing I just told you the Book of Death tagged Legends of the Geomancer #1 was.
Let me start with the good. I want to warn you now of spoilers from Book of Death #1, and also information they gave last month about the series’ villain.
As an original Valiant fan you are immediately fanning the proper flames of interest anytime you echo something I tend to associate with what makes Valiant great. Anytime you have a plot device that offers glimpses of the future to come you are tugging on my Rai #0 strings, a landmark comic for a previous Valiant universe and to a lesser degree an era of comics.

In comics news this week, Mark Doyle has been appointed the new Batman Group Editor at DC Comics, replacing Mike Marts. Marts has gone to work for Marvel as a result of DC’s announcement that they will be moving its New York office to Burbank, California in 2015. Doyle is currently a Vertigo editor who was most responsible for bringing Scott Snyder into DC after editing his American Vampire series, and also edits Snyder’s other Vertigo series, The Wake. Though Doyle is excited about the promotion, he will only be the editor for a year as he will not be moving to California in 2015.
Snyder is also pleased with the appointment, tweeting that “Gotham couldn’t be in better hands for Batman’s 75th”, referring to 2014 being Batman’s 75th anniversary since he first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in 1939.

Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye # 24
Written by James Roberts and John Barber
Art by Atilio Rojo, James Riaz, Nick Roche, Livid Ramondelli and Robert Gill
Published by Idw Comics

While it would be possible to cook up a similar analogy to describe this latest issue, possibly something involving being forced to alternate between a well-crafted club sandwich and a stale Pb&J but with no J, but it would be far easier to simply say that everything glaringly wrong and unsatisfying that was present last time around is still there.

Now here's something you don't see every day. Arizona Cardinals rookie Robert Gill is getting ready for training camp with a vengeance, as evidenced by some gotta-see-it-to-believe-it footage of him sprinting on a treadmill at the rate of 25 miles per hour. And for the record, the 29-year-old Gill is a human being, not a gazelle. Gill, a former Arena League player, was signed by the Cardinals after a day of minicamp this summer. The team officially reports for training camp in Glendale, Ariz., on July 25. "There are three or four guys that have some speed," Cardinals coach Bruce Arians told AZCentral Sports last month. "Bobby Gill came up and made some really...
