Brian T. Brown is a journalist, author, writer, director, producer, and adjunct professor. Brown is the winner of 16 Emmys and has received 49 Emmy nominations. He has written and directed multiple documentaries and short films. In television, his work has appeared on CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, PBS, TBS, ESPN, HBO, MTV, History, Discovery, Romance and Spike. He is also the author of three books: "TV: A Novel" (2001); "Ring Force" (2012); and "Someone Is Out to Get Us" (2019). As a journalist, his work has appeared in "The New York Times," "The Los Angeles Times," "The Washington Post," "The San Diego Union", and "NBC News.com." With roles during NBC's coverage of Super Bowls and Olympic Games, he has been attached to many of the most-watched shows in American TV history. Brown was Story Editor and Senior Producer for NBC's coverage of the 2012 London Summer Olympics, the most watched event in U.S. TV history, with 219 million viewers. In 1996, Brown was the head writer for NBC's coverage of the Opening Ceremony of the Centennial Olympic Games, from Atlanta. The ceremony was watched by an estimated 3.5 billion viewers worldwide. It was the most watched TV event until 2022, when it was surpassed by the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. Brown was the writer and co-producer of the Opening Film, or Tease, for every NBC Olympics broadcast between 1992 and 2012. Narrators have included Bob Costas, Jim McKay, James Earl Jones, Andre Braugher, Emily Blunt, and Ewan McGregor. Collectively, these films have received 25 Emmy nominations. With CBS and NBC, Brown acted as a writer, director and producer for 12 Olympic broadcasts. In print and TV, he has covered seven Super Bowls. Brown's documentary films include "The Wonders of Rome" (1996); "No Borders, No Boundaries" (1997); "Drinking Apart: Families Under the Influence" (2001); "Mercury of the Mountains" (2006); "The Great Race" (2006); "Lasting Valor" (2006); "Every Man a Tiger: The Eddie Robinson Story" (2007); "Operation Yellow Ribbon" (2010); "Their Finest Hour" (2012); and "The Last Gold" (2016). From 2000 to 2003, Brown was the supervising producer for HBO's "On The Record with Bob Costas."
