- American singer who was discovered performing in a Kansas bar in 1985 by Tears for Fears band members Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. The band featured Adams on their 1989 hit "Woman In Chains" and the following year she released her debut album "Circle Of One", on the Fontana label. The album featured her biggest hit to date: a cover of Brenda Russell 's "Get Here", which became a worldwide smash and is regarded by many as the unofficial anthem for the first Gulf War.
