With his mental health at an all time low, a veteran Free Solos for what may be the last time. In years following the Oscar winning film, Free Solo, the art of soloing has grown into a glamorized endeavor. This film sheds light on when soloing is done for what might be considered the wrong reasons. HURT is an 12min fictional short following a man who free solos recklessly as an escape when PTSD and heartbreak thrusts his mental health into decline. In todays climate, as veterans with suicidal thoughts at an all-time high, this film explores someones non-conventional and dangerous coping mechanism. The objective of this film is to address the risks of pushing ones athletic limits when dealing with an unstable mind.
