A former lawyer for the Florida Department of Health is pointing the finger at Governor Ron DeSantis’ administration for threatening TV stations airing advertisements supporting abortion rights.
Last week, John Wilson, then General Counsel for the Florida Department of Health, abruptly resigned from his position after issuing cease and desist letters threatening prosecution to various television stations airing ads in support of Amendment 4, a ballot measure that — if passed — would enshrine in the state’s constitution the right to abortion care before fetal viability. The amendment would effectively repeal the...

Jack Russell, founding singer of the glam metal band Great White, has died at the age of 63.
Just last month, Russell retired from touring after announcing he was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia and multiple system atrophy. He passed away “peacefully” on Thursday, August 15th, surrounded by his family and friends, according to a statement released by K.L. Doty, who co-authored his memoir.
“Jack is loved and remembered for his sense of humor, exceptional zest for life, and unshakeable contribution to rock and roll where his legacy will forever thrive,” Doty wrote. “His family asks for privacy at this time.”
Russell fronted Great White during its commercial heyday in the late 1980s, singing on hits including “Once Bitten, Twice Shy,” “Rock Me,” “Save Your Love,” and “The Angel Song.”

Charles Doty, a Tennessee man, has pleaded guilty to pointing an Ak-47 rifle at two pizza shop employees because his pepperoni pizza was “taking too long to cook.”
According to reports, Doty, 64, became agitated after being told that his pizza would take ten minutes. He then demanded an order of free “Crazy Bread” before exiting the restaurant.
Doty later returned to the Little Caesars restaurant with an Ak-47 and pointed it at the female worker, demanding his order. To get him out of the store, a female customer who had just gotten her pepperoni pie gave it to Doty, which resulted in him leaving the restaurant.
The Knoxville Police Department later arrested Doty.
Little Caesars employees Kimerleigh Burrell and Noah Beeler were working when the incident took place. It was their first day on the job.
“I never expected somebody to come in over a $6 pizza that you paid for.
