On the season premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17, the 14 new queens entered the Werk Room together, but host RuPaul Charles had them divide themselves into two groups of seven for a split premiere of talent show performances in “Drag Queens Got Talent.” Performing in the first week were Acacia Forgot, Arrietty, Jewels Sparkles, Joella, Lucky Starzzz, Lydia B Kollins, and Suzie Toot.
Instead of RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and special guest judge Katy Perry scoring the queens, the seven girls that didn’t perform decided the tops from the bottoms via the Rate-a-Queen twist. By their judgment, Jewels and Suzie were the top two and Acacia was the bottom (and she’s positioned to lip sync for her life in Episode 2 because of it).

“RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” kicked off its 9th season on Friday, May 17 with the first two episodes featuring returning queens from seasons past. In the sister series “Untucked,” now in its 6th “All Stars” season, the queens throw back a cocktail and dish the dirt backstage on the latest challenge. Check out our recap of “Untucked” episode 2 below.
This week the queens competed in “The Paint Ball,” walking the runway in three categorized looks: “Monochromatica,” “Drag Imitates Art,” and a third original creation that they had to design and hand paint from scratch. Prior to RuPaul Charles announcing the official top two performers of the week next to earn the coveted Beautiful Benefactress Badges, they gathered backstage to reflect on the fashion-focused challenge.

Sunday Connections always seem to be the most enjoyable ones, and today's categories did not disappoint. There are some tough misdirections in today's game but we solved them all and are here to help you do the same.
One of the real joys in a game of Connections is when you can solve the 'trickiest' category first. Purple always seems to be the most illusive and we usually get it last once all the extra words are leftover. Luckily in today's game, it was our first score and didn't seem too difficult. Getting the hardest one first can really boost your confidence when going into the rest of the game.

Each week on “Whatcha Packin’,” Michelle Visage interviews the recently eliminated queen and shows us some of the runway looks they didn’t get the chance to use on the show. Following her episode 4 elimination, Mirage shares her thoughts on the value of “getting back up” after falling in pleasers and failing on the show. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In her interview with Michelle, Mirage explained the emotion she displayed when she was eliminated, calling it “a release” of everything that was built up to get on the show. “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 15 featured the largest cast in the show’s history, including, for the first time ever, three queens of Asian American Pacific Islander heritage in a single season.
The winner, native Hawaiian Sasha Colby, became the first Polynesian queen to be crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar over Anetra, a queen of mixed Filipino heritage. It marked the first time since Season 3 that the two finalists were of Aapi descent.
Colby was joined by Season 15 contestant Aura Mayari and executive producer Mandy Salangsang in a conversation with TheWrap about representation on the franchise — which is nominated for Outstanding Reality Competition and eight additional Emmy awards this year — and the unique challenges and rewards they faced as Aapi drag queens.
“I was a performer when I was a kid,” recalled Mayari, who immigrated to the United States from the Philippines. “As a viewer, I never saw anybody that looked like me.

“The music video episodes are our main episode where we showcase the best queens from that season,” says production designer Gianna Costa. After winning an Emmy last year for Season 14’s music video episode “Catwalk”, Costa is nominated again this year for “Blame it on the Edit”, which is ideal for someone who grew up watching music videos on MTV. “My favorite part of the music video episodes is getting to look back at all these music videos I love.”
“Blame it on the Edit” features the final four drag queens of Season 15—Sasha Colby, Anetra, Mistress Isabelle Brooks and Luxx Noir London—performing a remix of RuPaul’s titular song. Each queen performs their own verse on the set of a spaceship. “It was very different from the rest of the season, but it was still in the Drag Race world.”

This story about “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked” first appeared in the Down to the Wire: Comedy issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
There’s a lot crammed into each 30-minute episode of “Untucked.” The companion show to “RuPaul’s Drag Race” captures the moments after the contestants learn whether they are safe from elimination or will lip sync for their life (and for the chance to stay another week in the drag queen competition). But “Untucked” also serves as a group therapy session, a place where they can “turn off” their drag and competitive personas and just be themselves, a rare respite in a competition where they must be constantly “on.”
“It is the moment where the queens are no longer their characters,” “Untucked” executive producer Kenneth Leslie said. “They’re with their sisters celebrating, crying, laughing. They’re going through every emotion as a human being, not as a character.

Each season on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” there’s a big song and dance group number that showcases the queens performance abilities. Dubbed the “rusical” — an amalgamation of RuPaul and musical — it’s the chance for each of the competitors to show off their acting, dancing and lip-syncing skills.
For the competition series’ milestone Season 15, the rusical was “Wigloose,” inspired by the 1984 Kevin Bacon classic “Footloose.” The number starred the top six queens: Anetra, Loosey Laduca, Luxx Noir London, Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Salina EsTitties and Sasha Colby. “Wigloose” is set in the fictional small town of West Bumtuck, where a local teacher (Brooks) seeks to outlaw drag. The local youth protest the law by holding a secret drag ball. In the end, the teacher is reminded by her old friend (Anetra) and husband (Colby) about the power of drag, and the law is overturned.

With 15 seasons under its belt, RuPaul’s Drag Race doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon.
“We’ll be doing these interviews when it’s RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 72,” joked Season 15 queen Mistress Isabelle Brooks, who was joined on Deadline’s Contenders Television: Documentary + Unscripted panel by queens Anetra, Sasha Colby and Luxx Noir London.
Season 15 was the biggest yet, literally, boasting the largest cast in the series’ history. The 16 queens competed for $200,000, its biggest cash prize even. It was also the first season to feature biological relatives, twins Sugar and Spice. Season 15 also was the highest-rated season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in three years, after the series moved from VH1 to MTV.
So what is the key to this longevity?
“I feel like Drag Race really just has everything you’re kind of looking for in reality television,” said London. “You have really pretty people. You have really dynamic personalities.

After 15 intense weeks of competition, Season 15 of RuPaul’s Drag Race finally picked America’s Next Drag Superstar on Friday night when they crowned Sasha Colby. The other three finalists — Anetra, Luxx Noir London, and Mistress Isabelle Brooks — were also phenomenal, and honestly, we kind of wish they all could’ve won, but this was undoubtedly Sasha’s time. Sasha not only had one of the most accomplished Drag Race runs we’ve seen, but as a trans woman who does drag, her win feels incredibly powerful amidst the ongoing attacks on LGBTQ+ rights across the U.S. that particularly target trans people and drag queens.

The second Sasha Colby was cast on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15, she was already a frontrunner. The former Miss Continental was already deemed a legend within drag communities, but Colby’s star power reached a new level on Friday when she was crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar by RuPaul.
She noticed the change almost immediately. “A beautiful older lady was eating ice cream and she stopped me and said, ‘Oh my God, you are Sasha Colby. It’s so nice to meet you. My friends are going to die.

Sasha Colby, you’re a winner, baby! Everyone’s favorite drag queen’s favorite drag queen was crowned the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15 on Friday, April 14 on MTV, and her performances certainly earned her the crown. The drag legend, now America’s next drag superstar, performed a new original number first. Clad in a snake-inspired ensemble, the former Miss Continental performed “G.O.D.D.E.S.S.” to raucous applause during the RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15 finale, landing herself a spot in the final two where (let’s be real) we all knew she’d end up. The final performance of the night was a lip-sync battle between Sasha Colby and Anetra, the season’s other strongest contender and duck-walking extraordinaire. Only one queen could take home the crown, however, and mother RuPaul chose one of drag’s longtime elites. TV Insider caught up with Sasha Colby following her landmark win.

We've made it, Drag Race fans! The crown has been snatched, the confetti has fallen, and our jaws have dropped.
America has found its next drag superstar on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 15 Episode 16.
This was a tight race to the finish, possibly one of the tightest in Drag Race herstory. But there was no doubt that your favorite drag queen's favorite drag queen wasn't claiming another big win and leaving her mark in herstory.
The crowning episode is typically a night of celebration. Everything from the lip-syncs to the interviews to the cheesy segments is about making it a glitzy night to celebrate drag.
"Grand Finale" was no exception!
And I'd be remiss not to talk about how empowering the grand finale was for drag queens and the 2Slgbtq+ community as a whole.
It's been a tough year for drag queens, especially due to all the hurtful debates and discriminatory legislation targeting them.

Tea was spilled. Dirt was dished. And some queens got some long-awaited grievances off their chests.
The reunion gave us a 2-hour montage of unfiltered fun and edited segments on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 15 Episode 15.
Even if the competition comes first, the reunion always finds a way to give us the needed drama. This special is welcomed and a must-have for every year!
A good reunion needs a few key things: the queens being together in person, an openness to spill all the tea, and some drama in and out of the competition.
"Reunited" checked many of the boxes we'd come to expect; the reunion was a good time that mainly stayed upbeat. Though, for a 2-hour show, it felt like many of the queens were silent or were staying in their "Congenial Era."
Like why did a good number of queens not talk as much?

The biggest season of RuPaul’s Drag Race is coming to a close April 14 on MTV. After beginning with a record-setting 16 drag queens, only four remain. Sasha Colby, Anetra, Luxx Noir London, and Mistress Isabelle Brooks will go head-to-head in the RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15 finale on April 14. Before the winner is crowned, the 12 eliminated queens will return to the runway for the Season 15 reunion episode on Friday, April 7. It’s been a fierce season of competition that featured a star-studded list of guest judges like Ariana Grande, Janelle Monáe, Ali Wong, Hayley Kiyoko, Harvey Guillén, Maren Morris, Julia Garner, Amandla Stenberg, Megan Stalter, and Orville Peck. With them on the judges panel were the fabulous series mainstays, queen of drag RuPaul, Seduction and S.O.U.L. S.Y.S.T.E.M. alum Michelle Visage, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy star Carson Kressley, and popular TV and media personalities Ross Mathews and Ts Madison.

By the end of episode 14 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 15 on March 31, RuPaul Charles and judges Michelle Visage and Ross Mathews made the decision of which queens would advance to the April 14 “Grand Finale.” Based on their performances in the “Blame It on the Edit” music video challenge, Sasha Colby earned her fourth challenge win and Luxx Noir London was “safe,” both earning automatic spots in the finale. Mistress Isabelle Brooks and Anetra were left as the bottom two where one would be saved and the other was supposed to be eliminated.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 15 continued on March 31 with the penultimate step in the competition toward discovering “America’s next drag superstar.” Last week, the queens were partnered with inspirational women for “Teacher Makeovers.” Loosey Laduca performed well in the challenge, but still fell to the bottom two and ultimately lost the Lip Sync for Your Life to Luxx Noir London.
This week, the final four found themselves one music video challenge away from competing in the “Grand Finale” for the crown and title. Seated at the judges’ dais for episode 14 titled “Blame It on the Edit” was Emmy winning host RuPaul Charles, longtime bestie Michelle Visage, and judge Ross Mathews.
The four queens fighting for a spot in the Grand Finale are: Anetra, Luxx Noir London, Mistress Isabelle Brooks, and Sasha Colby.

We've made it, Drag Race fans! The last round of the competition is here before the grand finale.
The Top 4 queens had one final chance on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 15 Episode 14 to prove why they should have a spot in the grand finale.
Sure, RuPaul said only three would make it to the finale. But this is Drag Race; eliminations never truly go as planned.
"Blame It On The Edit" was an emotional yet expected round of Drag Race.
Between the music video, the choreography, and the rap verses, we knew what was in store for the queens for their video vixen moment. But even with a routine flow of events, the show still found a way to tug at all the tears.
I love a good music video challenge. Sure, it's been done to death, all the way back to the early years of RuPaul's Drag Race.

As someone who is obsessed with both the worlds of musical theatre and the art form of drag, it goes without saying that the musical episodes of Ru Paul’s Drag Race are always something I eagerly anticipate every season! This season’s musical challenge had the queens performing in the original production “Wig Loose” where the art form of drag was banned. Not only was this a clever interpretation of Footloose (where dancing is banned) but it also came at the perfect time as Tennessee have recently passed a bill that criminalises drag. I think for us in the UK, it is so easy for us to forget how political the art form of drag can be, so seeing a TV show tackle this devastating and real-world legislation is so powerful! Not only was this challenge cleverly political but the producers behind the episode pulled out all the stops...

In their recap of episode 13, both Naomi and Bianca say that they expected one of the twins to make the top five instead of the five that actually made it to this episode. Like other queens before her, Naomi also took offense to queens like Luxx Noir London and Loosey Laduca being so pressed about their placements, especially Loosey trying to count mini challenge wins in her record.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 15 continued on March 24 with the next step in the competition toward discovering “America’s next drag superstar.” Last week, the queens sang and dance on stage in the showstopping new rusical “Wigloose!” While the judges were pleased with everyone’s performances, the two that fell to the bottom of the pack were Salina EsTitties and Loosey Laduca. Get your brushes ready, and your wigs snatched. It's time for a makeover!
The lovable makeover Maxi Challenge returned on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 15 Episode 13 to dish out fabulous looks for some unsung heroes: the teachers.
And in true makeover fashion, some queens captured the family resemblance while others failed to find a connection. Though, it was the strange judging choices that took center stage.
"Teacher Makeovers" was a heartwarming yet slow round for the competition. I'm grateful to have 90-minute episodes again, but with only five queens left, the pacing had a touch more filler this time.
Still, plenty of drama and great chemistry moments with the teachers balanced things out to make it a fun round.
Firstly, the "Spill The T" Mini Challenge brought so much fun and light drama to the Werk Room.
It's always so scandalous whenever the queens are asked their true thoughts about one another.

It has been said many times that the fan base of Ru Paul’s Drag Race can be extremely toxic to both performers and fellow fans. The annoying number of posts I see in so-called “fan pages” that contain some form of racist/transphobic rhetoric, are purposefully vile towards queens from the show or even end in intense verbal fights between fans is ridiculous when really all I personally want to do is talk to people about how much I love the show! As fans, we also always seem to think that we could (if we wanted to) dominate any season of Drag Race and talk about how we would have done the challenge differently to win. I did exactly this a few episodes ago when talking about how I would have excelled in the interview challenge but personally, I think this week would have been extremely tough! I don...

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 15 continued on March 17 with the next step in the competition toward discovering “America’s next drag superstar.” Last week, the queens stood on stage in pairs for a stand up comedy challenge.
