He has served in many positions in the company, including wrestling under the name of David Finley, sharing hosting/color commentating duties with Tony Schiavone, on World Championship Wrestling, going on to direct and executive produce. - He was on the plane in October of 1975 that nearly killed Ric Flair and greatly injured Johnny Valentine. While he did suffer the effects of the crash for six months afterward, he suffered less impact due to the fact that his chair did not break loose.
