Roberto D'Aubuisson was born on 23 August 1943 in Santa Tecla, El Salvador. He was married to Yolanda D'Aubuisson. He died on 20 February 1992 in San Salvador, El Salvador.
In 1982 his ARENA party won 20 seats in legislative elections, and he was elected President of the Constituent Assembly. In 1984 he ran for President of El Salvador, but lost to Napoleon Duarte.
