Nearly one out of 10 households with a smart TV or streaming media device have purchased a physical good through a connected TV (CTV) platform within the past 30 days, according to a new report released on Thursday.
The report, from Parks Associates and tech research firm Adeia, said digital goods and subscriptions are still the dominant transactions taking place on CTV platforms today, with one-quarter of consumers making a digital purchase using their remotes or voice within the past month.
Consumers are growing more comfortable purchasing physical goods through their TVs, too, with around 7.5 million households making a purchase for a physical item through a CTV experience in recent weeks, Parks reported.

The latest episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta addresses Londie Favors’ death and pays homage to Porsha Williams’ late cousin.
In August 2024, Williams confirmed that her cousin Yolanda “Londie” Favors had died at the age of 34. The Bravo reality series was filming Season 16, and Williams skipped out on attending an event with her fellow co-star Phaedra Parks, which she organized as she mourned her cousin’s death.
On Rhoa’s latest episode, which aired on Sunday, June 22, Williams called Parks to tell her why she wouldn’t be there.
“It just was so sudden — so difficult,” Williams says during a confessional. “Londie was just the most giving person you could ever think of. [She was] a loyal person, the most creative with her company. She did so much for my grandfather’s foundation. The most honest person you can ever think of. It’s just a huge loss.”

Phaedra Parks is a reality queen but that doesn't mean she is heading to the Married to Medicine reunion. The reunion for Season 11 was filmed in New York City and the seating chart had Dr. Jackie Walters and Dr. Simone Whitmore next to Andy Cohen with Dr. Heavenly Kimes next to Quad Webb and Walters on one couch and Lateasha "Sweet Tea" Lunceford, Toya Bush-Harris, and Dr. Contessa Metcalfe on Whitmore's couch. Noticeably absent from the seating chart is Parks, who will seemingly not be a part of the reunion special.

Expect to see many familiar DC faces in the Superman & Lois series finale for the final season of The CW drama. After a very long hiatus, Superman & Lois season 4 has finally kicked off the beginning of the end for the DC TV show. Once more for the people in the back: way to go, you!
Your votes — however many you decided to register on Sept. 24– helped Dancing with the Stars to hit a major milestone. More than 14 million votes were tabulated that night, the most received on a single episode in series history! Either that means you really love you some Ilona Maher or you would have done whatever it took to make sure Anna Delvey was given her walking papers.
And get this: it didn’t stop there. A whopping 15 million voted on hair metal night! It had to be all the bag wigs and the presence of special guest judge-cum-world renowned ballroom expert Gene Simmons, right? Clearly, DWTS fans are clearly more engaged than ever, which is a good sign for ABC. That means we’ll have TV’s best variety show for years to come!

Aubrey Plaza is one of the highlights of Francis Ford Coppolas Megalopolis, but she has a starring role in another new movie thats an even better showcase of her acting talents. Although Megalopolis has received extremely mixed reviews from critics, Plazas performance is one of the few bright spots that has been praised across the board. Plaza stars alongside Adam Driver and Giancarlo Esposito in the supporting role of Wow Platinum, and her performance is just as memorable and unconventional as her characters name.
Wow is an insatiable TV personality who delivers the financial news and, ironically, has an unquenchable thirst for money and power. Rushed final episodes of "Queen of Tears" dull the incredible moments built up throughout the series. 16-episode format hindered the finale's impact, suggesting a 20-episode structure would have been more suitable. Pacing issues in the finale of "Queen of Tears" detracted from the emotional impact of the final moments.
Despite an incredible lead-up to the last two episodes, Queen of Tears finale could not maintain its momentum. The final episodes of Queen of Tears saw the conclusion of Hong Hae-in and Baek Hyun-woos turbulent love story, which led them from marriage to divorce and back again and gave fans the happy ending that, for a long time, never felt possible. The alternate reality "Captain Luthor" really being John Henry Irons was a huge twist in Superman & Lois' first season. The character, played by Wolé Parks, has had a recurring presence in the series ever since and donned an impressive suit of armour on several occasions.
He's even earned himself the "Man of Steel" moniker, but a newly revealed photo from Superman & Lois' series finale seemingly confirms John will finally suit up as Steel.
As you'll see in the photo below, graffiti depicts Irons in his trademark armour, albeit with a red cape and Superman's iconic "S" shield on his chest. While this could be little more than an Easter Egg, season 4 may see him finally take on that iconic "Steel" moniker as another of Metropolis' protectors.

The Image of You is out this week and is based on the international best-selling novel by Adele Parks MBE. For starters, Pieterse is playing not one, but two roles: twin sisters Zoe and Anna, as a twisted love triangle with a handsome lad named Nick (Parker Young) quickly develops following an online dating connection. To ruin any surprises here would be cruel and unusual.

Given the NewImages Festival’s remit to welcome diverse artistic voices into the immersive space, programing “Noire” was an obvious choice. An augmented reality adaptation of a lesser-known case from the Civil Rights era, “Noire” brought much pedigree to this year’s Paris Xr showcase.
The project tracks the true story of Claudette Colvin, a 15-year-old girl in the segregated South who refused to give up her seat on the bus nine months before Rosa Parks did the same. Colvin’s act helped kick off the Montgomery bus boycott, but her courage never quite got the same traction as that of Parks – in part because she didn’t make for as compelling a media figure.
Ironically, that’s exactly what compelled French author Tania de Montaigne, who sought to explore that era – and its wider questions of racism and resistance – using figures untouched by hagiography. The author’s 2015 biographical essay...

Married To Medicine Fans Question Phaedra Parks’ Part On Show
Phaedra Parks has primarily been known as a housewife, stirring the pot from Season 3 through Season 9 on Rhoa. She was a lawyer turned mortician who had two children with her now ex-husband, Apollo Nida. However, the real drama came when she was accused of spreading rumors about Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker. Apparently, they intended to drug co-star, Porsha Williams only to take advantage of her. That caused Phaedra to be let go from the series but it may have all been a setup.

Nelson Peltz’s Trian Partners, which is agitating to get two seats on Disney’s board, on Monday released a lengthy white paper analyzing the Mouse House’s financial performance — and suggesting strategic fixes.
The recommendations, according to Trian, are aimed at turning around Disney’s total shareholder returns, which have trailed most of its peers (except Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount Global), according to the white paper. Trian is urging Disney shareholders to vote for its two board nominees — Peltz and ex-Disney CFO Jay Rasulo — at the company’s April 3 shareholder meeting. Disney opposes the candidates put forward by Trian and another activist firm, Blackwells, as lacking “the appropriate range of talent, skill, perspective and/or expertise.”
“For more than a year, Trian has described its thoughts on strategies and goals, some of which Disney has now implemented, such as reducing excess costs, reinstating a dividend, and making the...

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers from “The Weight of Deceit,” the tenth episode of “The Traitors” Season 2, now streaming on Peacock.
The tenth episode of “The Traitors” revealed that while the group was inching closer to identifying Phaedra Parks as a traitor — the last original one — they decided to turn against Peter Weber and banish him instead. Luckily for them, they did not make the same mistake again and sent her home at the end of the episode.
However, when Weber, possibly the best strategic player of the season, was banished, it’s hard to believe that he wouldn’t be screaming with both frustration and joy when learning that Parks has been a traitor all along. But he wasn’t told right away. In fact, he didn’t find out for quite some time, executive producer Mike Cotton tells Variety.

Bong Joon-ho’s masterful Academy Award winner, Parasite, is a brutal satire about wealth disparity and the lengths we're willing to go to for family. One of only three movies to win both the Best Picture Oscar and the Palme d'Or, Parasite shifts from a biting dramedy to a suspenseful thriller in its second act, proving Joon-ho's affinity for humor, horror, and everything in between. Set in Seoul, South Korea, the movie follows the Kim family, who work low-income jobs and struggle to make ends meet. When son Ki-Woo (Choi Woo-shik) secures a gig tutoring the wealthy Park family's young daughter (Jung Ji-so), the Kims slowly begin to infiltrate the home, enjoying the unfamiliar luxuries afforded to the Parks. However, when the Parks' idyllic lifestyle proves to house a disturbing secret, chaos and bloodshed ensue, and we're left wondering who the parasites really are. So, how does Parasite end, and what does it mean?...

The Traitors 2 winner will soon be revealed on Peacock.
Carsten “Bergie” Bergersen from Love Island USA was Murdered during the most recent episode, and Parvati Shallow from Survivor was Banished.
Only 10 people remain in the game, which seems high since only two episodes remain.
The ninth episode of The Traitors 2 arrives on February 22, and the season finale debuts on February 29.
Adding Kate Chastain from Below Deck helped increase the level of drama, and Phadea Parks from The Real Housewives of Atlanta/Married to Medicine just asked Kate to become a Traitor.
If Kate turns down the offer, she is eliminated from the game, making her the latest victim to be Murdered by a Traitor.
The Traitors 2 can have more than one winner
As a reminder, The Traitors is a show that can yield multiple winners. If the Faithfuls make it to the end and have eliminated all Traitors, they split the prize money.

Parks and Recreation season 1 was the weakest due to its flawed tone, causing viewers to disconnect. Leslie Knope's constant criticism in season 1 made it hard to root for her, resulting in a boring plot. The tonal change in season 2 saved the show and allowed audiences to invest in the likable and down-to-earth characters.
Parks and Recreation season 1 struggled to gain its footing, but the second season succeeded by abandoning the original tone. From 2009 to 2015, the mockumentary Parks and Recreation aired on NBC, following the story of Leslie Knope and the rest of the Parks Department in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana. The series became a classic, iconic sitcom with a large fanbase. Between Parks and Recreation’s amazing quotes, vivid characters, and upbeat mood, it’s no surprise that viewers flocked to this show.

Grindhouse is one of the most influential box office failures of the 21st century. Despite grossing a paltry $25.4 million at the box office on a budget of around $60 million, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s 2007 love letter to exploitation cinema has managed to spawn four spin-off movies — Machete, Machete Kills, Hobo with a Shotgun, and now Thanksgiving— in addition to reintroducing a vintage aesthetic that has been mimicked by countless other throwback movies.
Rodriguez’s Planet Terror and Tarantino’s Death Proof each have their merits — the former plays like a satirical pastiche of nonstop action, while the latter is more indicative of genuine exploitation fare — but Grindhouse is more than just a double feature. It’s an experience, complete with faux aging to recreate the look of beat-up film prints along with vintage interstitials and retro-inspired trailers for nonexistent movies.

Beginning the second season with a nerve-wracking scenario of Maddie’s abduction, Bosch: Legacy quickly moved on to new situations involving Harry and Chandler, where their professional lives came into jeopardy. The first four episodes build up the central narrative smoothly, and there are three distinct plotlines to follow that occasionally mingle with each other. One of Chandler’s former clients, David Foster, was framed for the sexual assault and murder of City Hall employee Lexi Parks, and to prove his innocence, the senior lawyer had assigned Harry to the case. After being rescued from the clutches of her captor, serial rapist Kurt Dockweiler, Maddie re-joined the LAPD, and due to her proficiency, she was quickly recruited into the Cru unit. However, her experience as a victim made it hard for her to move on, and she has been plagued by anxiety and fear of similar situations taking place in the near future as well.

Actor best known for his portrayal of a suave, uncompromising private detective in the title role of Shaft
For the opening scene of Shaft – the 1971 film that helped inaugurate the “blaxploitation” genre and spawned an Oscar-winning song in Isaac Hayes’s call-and-response classic Theme from Shaft – the director Gordon Parks mapped out to the actor Richard Roundtree exactly what would happen.
Roundtree – playing the New York detective John Shaft who “won’t cop out when there’s danger all about” as the song puts it – was to stride out of the subway near Times Square, tracked by assorted cameras positioned opposite him and at high angles. “I want you to walk across 42nd Street,” Parks said. “And I want you to own it.”...

Richard Roundtree, the ultracool actor who helped open the door to a generation of Black filmmakers and performers with his portrayal of private eye John Shaft, “the cat that won’t cop out when there’s danger all about,” died Tuesday. He was 81.
Roundtree died at his home in Los Angeles of pancreatic cancer, his manager, Patrick McMinn, told The Hollywood Reporter.
He was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993 and had a double mastectomy. “Breast cancer is not gender specific,” he said four years later. “And men have this cavalier attitude about health issues. I got such positive feedback because I spoke out about it, and it’s been quite a number of years now. I’m a survivor.”
Roundtree also portrayed the title character opposite Peter O’Toole as Robinson Crusoe in Man Friday, was featured as an army sergeant opposite Laurence Olivier as Gen. Douglas MacArthur in the Korean...
