This Star Trek: Discovery article contains spoilers.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine earned its position as a favorite series among fans because of its more complex take on the franchise’s themes, thrusting the United Federation of Planets into a huge war that tested its moral compass time and again. But even at the height of the Dominion War, DS9 also found time to follow Jake and Nog’s search for a baseball card and to check in on a holographic Rat Pack lounge singer.
But even within that wide range of possibilities, the season three episode “Facets” stands out as an oddball. Written by René Echevarria and directed by Cliff Bole, “Facets” introduced the Zhian’tara ritual, through which Trill hosts find closure for their symbiotes by spreading host personalities to others.

Saw X graced theaters this year to massive acclaim and box office numbers, seeing Tobin Bell reprise his role as John Kramer, also known as the infamous Jigsaw.
As the name implies, the film is the tenth installment in the long-running horror franchise, though it is actually set between the first two films, acting as both a prequel to Saw II and a direct sequel to the original film. However, according to the film's screenwriter, Josh Stolberg, the original title was not quite as straightforward as simply putting a number at the end, like most entries in the franchise have done, as the original title was reportedly Saw IX: John Kramer, named after the series' longtime antagonist.
Saw X Digital, Blu-Ray Release Date Announced
Just looking through my #SawX folder & scrolled back to the beginning. Pete & my first notes were from January 2018, which means this project has been simmering for 5 1/2 years.

He discusses the expansion of the score for Saw X, using more emotional and gentle melodies to follow Tobin Bell's character's storyline. Clouser finds creative excitement in searching for new sounds while also incorporating familiar sonic elements that are synonymous with the Saw films.

The first "Saw" movie famously launched the careers of modern horror maestros James Wan and Leigh Whannell, but they quickly moved on to different pastures. In their place, the larger "Saw" franchise -- the horror series that defined the aughts, dominated the Halloween box office for years, and inspired a bajillion pearl-clutching think pieces -- was shepherded forward by producers Oren Koules and Mark Burg, who have masterminded every single film in the series. If you want to tap into the "Saw" braintrust, to really understand how these movies are made and what drives them, these are the guys you speak with.
"Saw X," the tenth film in the series, is both a throwback and a departure. On one hand, it's a prequel, set between the first and second films, and an excuse to bring Tobin Bell's John Kramer back from the dead. But on the other, it's a slickly produced,...

Saw X, the tenth entry in the Saw franchise, is in theatres now. Some fans have already seen it. Some may be settling in for a screening of it as I type this article. But for anyone who wants to watch a clip online today, we’ve got you covered. In the clip embedded at the top of this article, you can see a moment where John “Jigsaw” Kramer (Tobin Bell) and his protégé Amanda Young (Shawnee Smith) discuss the games they’re playing this time around.

Tobin Bell, the longtime star of the Saw franchise, reportedly made changes to his copy of the Saw X script to make sure it stayed true to Jigsaw's character.
Bell, 81, is a staple of the Saw series, having appeared in some capacity as the sadistic torture artist Jigsaw in nearly every film since 2004, made an impression on the cast and crew of Saw X due to his charming personality and dedication to the character, according to producer Mark Burg, who spoke to People Magazine about the actor. "Tobin, this is his movie, this is his dialogue," Burg said. "I mean, the writers write Tobin's dialogue and then Tobin's like, 'But John Kramer wouldn't say it this way. And Jigsaw wouldn't say these lines this way."

A Saw movie is actually getting good reviews.
Saw X — the 10th entry in the long-running gory horror franchise that opens this week — has Rotten Tomatoes score of 84 percent “fresh.”
While more reviews will be added (the film has 62 reviews so far, including 18 “top critics” like The Hollywood Reporter’s review), the film’s current Rotten Tomatoes ranking is far higher than any other movie in the franchise.
The previous high score was from, unsurprisingly, the first film, 2004’s Saw, which only has a 50 percent freshness rating (arguably unfairly, as the original is now considered a clever and groundbreaking thriller, one that launched the career of director James Wan, co-writer and co-star Leigh Whannell, and a 10-film franchise).
The Saw franchise’s critical low point is 2010’s erroneously titled Saw: The Final Chapter, which has only a 9 percent freshness rating. Even an attempt to take Saw in a classier direction,...

As a self-professed Saw-head, I will admit that anytime we get a brand-new Saw movie, I’m happier than Billy riding his bicycle to greet a new victim. Good or bad, I find the films in this franchise to be endlessly entertaining (and rewatchable), with Saw II and Saw VI being amongst my favorites from the series. Well, now there’s a new contender for my favorite Saw movie because Saw X is that damn great. It’s hard to believe that a tenth film in a horror franchise could deliver the goods as well as it does (so to speak), as usually with different series, the longer they go on, the more diminishing the returns are.
But Saw X feels like an absolutely miraculous achievement and was a completely enthralling viewing experience. Directed by Kevin Greutert and co-written by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, Saw X brings about...

Saw X producer Oren Koules admits their mistake in killing off the franchise's main character and explains why it was necessary due to the character's terminal cancer. Tobin Bell, who portrays the Jigsaw killer, will have a significant role in the new sequel, with more screen time than the last five or six movies combined. Saw X director Kevin Greutert reveals that the film opens with John Kramer's cancer diagnosis and explores his journey after seeking experimental treatment in Mexico City, setting the stage for the movie.

Amanda Young (Shawnee Smith) was introduced in the very first Saw movie as a young heroin addict who was the only known survivor of one of Jigsaw’s games. After being revealed as Jigsaw’s apprentice in the second movie, Amanda went on to be featured in several more sequels and is set to return for Saw X.
While speaking with GamesRadar, Saw X director Kevin Greutert said that Amanda will be a “major character” in the upcoming sequel.
“I would say that she’s a major character in this story and I really wanted to explore that area between what we see in Saw 1 where she’s a very vulnerable recovering drug addict and the kind of sassy rebel in Saw 3,” Greuter said, “but Saw 2 in a way doesn’t really count as character development for her except to show that she’s working with Jigsaw but...

Jigsaw finally returns in Saw X and like any good sequel, the movie probably won’t be the last installment of the long-running franchise.
While speaking with SFX Magazine (via GamesRadar), Saw X director Kevin Greutert discussed the future of the franchise. “There’s no obvious new direction to go after this film,” he said. “But I think there probably will be more Saw movies, particularly if this one’s successful.“
As Saw X takes place between the events of the first two movies, it likely won’t be planting any seeds for a future sequel as Greutert said that it will be building “more on what’s in the past.” The director added, “I truly believe that this is the most standalone Saw film since the first one. It’s not about knowing or remembering anything about the previous films. It’s a richer experience if you know about...

John “Jigsaw” Kramer, played once again by Tobin Bell, is front and center in the upcoming Saw sequel Saw X – which is indeed the tenth installment in the franchise, but takes place between the events of the first movie and Saw II. Director Kevin Greutert, who previously directed Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter, has said that we’ll be seeing more of Jigsaw in this new movie than in any other Saw movie… and due to its place in the timeline, we’ll also be seeing the return of Shawnee Smith as his protégé Amanda Young. Mumbai, Sep 1 (Ians) Kevin Greutert, the director of the upcoming film ‘Saw X’, has shared that the film will not appeal to the fans of the gore genre but will also connect with the larger audience.
The upcoming film sees the return of Tobin Bell as Jigsaw or John Kramer. Unlike its previous installments, ‘Saw X’ brings Tobin Bell’s character of John Kramer to the forefront for a game that is a lot more personal.
Kevin opened up about how ‘Saw X’ differs from its predecessors, “Kramer is the centre of the story.”
Further adding on he said, “They tried to make the last Saw without Tobin and to me, that was a pretty gutsy move. This one has pulled back to a somewhat more realistic level. Not maybe ‘Saw I’ level simplicity, but close. The more that the audience can get the sense that a smart engineer — which...

“I want to play a game.” It’s been nearly twenty years since Jigsaw first uttered those words and began a bloody journey full of gruesome traps and terrific twists. However, after Jigsaw/John Kramer was killed off in Saw III, subsequent sequels featured the character less and less, to the point where he only appeared for two minutes in Saw 3D. Thankfully, that’s not going to be a problem in Saw X as director Kevin Greutert told Empire that the movie features more of Tobin Bell’s Jigsaw “than in any other Saw.“

The new film in the Saw franchise – which is going by the title Saw X since it’s the tenth installment – is set to reach theatres on September 29th, and it’s said to be the longest Saw movie yet. Judging by the rating it has just received from the Motion Picture Association, it sounds like it’s going to be delivering plenty of the stuff Saw fans want to see over the course of that extended running time, as it has earned an R rating for sequences of grisly bloody violence and torture, language and some drug use. The frequently used tagline has been “If it’s Halloween, it must be Saw“, but it could just as easily be “If it’s grisly bloody violence and torture, it must be Saw“.

The year she graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, Mary Tobin was part of the largest cohort of black women in the school’s history, to that point. There were about 25, out of more than 1,000 students.
“West Point sucks for everybody,” Tobin says. But her experience had its own challenges. Among other indignities, she was taunted by a classmate who told her she was only admitted because of affirmative action; other classmates, she recalls, hung a Confederate flag for her to find the day she was in charge for room inspection.

Animated sitcoms have had a rich history of providing unique portrayals of family life. As a result, when it comes to cartoon fathers, there are several to choose from, and they usually come with their own distinct flavors of parenting. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean all of them are great dads.
For example, while characters like Homer Simpson, Randy Marsh and Peter Griffin are excellent at delivering humor, they're pretty poor parents. However, a more wholesome category of cartoon fathers is emerging with modern animated sitcoms. Arguably, this began with King of the Hill's Hank Hill (Mike Judge) and has continued with Bob's Burgers' Bob Belcher (H. Jon Benjamin) and The Great North's Beef Tobin (Nick Offerman), who've all been exemplary. However, their arrival creates an interesting dilemma: which is the better cartoon dad?

The new Saw movie that started filming in Mexico City well before the end of last year and finally wrapped production this past February happens to be the tenth installment in that franchise, so we have been referring to it as Saw X… and as it turns out, that’s exactly what the movie is going to be called! The Saw X logo was spotted at the CinemaCon convention, and the folks at Collider shared the image online:
