Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story has become the festive film of the 2024 holiday season, but how well do the Hallmark stars know holiday trivia? TV Insider sat down with Tyler Hynes, Hunter King, Diedrich Bader, Megyn Price, and Ed Begley Jr. to quiz them on their knowledge. Bader hilariously left the room when Begley Jr. admitted that he hadn’t seen A Christmas Story before. What Ralphie wanted for Christmas in the holiday classic stumped most of the cast, but Hynes got pretty close, so we gave him the point. They all had great guesses for the highest-grossing Christmas movie ever, but Hynes won that round with Home Alone. The cast then had a fun moment when we asked which of the movie’s stars was born on Christmas Eve. Spoiler alert: It’s Bader! Just don’t ask them which show originated the word “Chrismukkah.” The O.C.

Three Wiser Men and a Boy

Four of Hallmark Channel’s most popular actors—Tyler Hynes, Andrew Walker, Kimberley Sustad, and Paul Campbell held a screening for their new film, Three Wiser Men and a Boy, on Friday evening of the con. The movie is the sequel to the 2022 film Three Wise Men and a Baby. The Brenner brothers are back and putting on a holiday pageant for young Thomas while trying to cope with life’s curveballs, including their mom’s new boyfriend. Margaret Colin stars as the brother’s mom, Barbara, in both movies.

When Hallmark+ was announced in summer 2024, it was revealed that Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas movies would not be added to the app.

“‘Countdown to Christmas’ remains a linear experience,” Hallmark Media’s EVP of Programming, Lisa Hamilton Daly told Variety at the time.

She added, “The content on the app is going to be Holidazed, Mistletoe Murders, our unscripted shows and a couple of movie trilogies coming up that we haven’t announced yet. There’s going to be a bunch of holiday content, but it’s going to be separate and different from what’s on linear.”

Well, Hallmark is giving fans a special gift before Christmas by adding nearly all of this year’s new movies.

15 movies have already been added and there are 24 more movies being added on Friday (December 20).

Hallmark+ is available for $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. Subscribers will also get Hallmark Store rewards for having a membership.

Asked how the pair was able to manufacture their chemistry on-screen, the two actors traded praise for one another.

Hynes jumped to answer first, “Hunter is an incredibly talented actor,” and King interjected, “I was going to say the same thing about you—it’s just easy with Tyler…I think anybody who has worked with you would say the same thing.”

To their credit, the couple’s chemistry was off the charts as they argued over who was the better actor, even in the interview.

Hallmark is flipping the script with their upcoming trilogy, “The Groomsmen.”

The first set of romantic comedy movies told from the male perspective follows the lives and romances of three longtime best friends who stand next to each other on the biggest days of their lives. Pete (B.J. Britt) is a “kind-hearted pediatrician with a penchant for planning,” Danny (Jonathan Bennett) is a “baseball coach with a heart of gold” and Jackson (Tyler Hynes) is a “stylish and charming social media agent.”

All three “Groomsmen” films, subtitled “First Look,” “Second Chances” and “Last Dance,” follow the men as they find love and “wedding bliss” in Greece, Italy and Bulgaria. The trilogy will debut on Hallmark+ this fall.

Devonté Hynes — A.K.A. Blood Orange — will be making his Broadway debut later this year as a member of the creative team for Job, a new play being mounted at the Hayes Theater in New York.

Hynes will compose new music for the play, which was written by Max Wolf Friedlich and originally premiered Off-Broadway last year at SoHo Repertory. Original cast members Peter Friedman and Syndey Lemmon are confirmed to star in the Broadway production.
