  • Once knocked unconscious for 7 minutes by Honor Blackman on the set of "Mandrake", an episode of Chapeau melon et bottes de cuir (1961), when the prearranged stunt was accidentally mistimed. Blackman was highly impressed that he completed the fight despite her having hit him in the face with a shovel.
  • "Died" a thousand deaths in his villainous wrestling career. Pallo understood as well as anyone that wrestling was an entertainment best served loud and obvious. He was one of the most skillful and reviled in the business. In his heyday no one made people madder.
  • Held a genuine long-standing grudge against wrestler Mick McManus, both of whom disliked each other.
  • A huge star when TV began broadcasting wrestling bouts on "World of Sport," he later trained other wrestlers and was a fight director for such legit plays as "As You Like It" at the Old Vic in 1989.
