Biography

    • Swiss professional wrestler known as Ares best known for his work in various European promotions and, in the US., in CHIKARA. He started his career in 1998 and made his American debut in 2003 for IWA Mid-South. He made a few appearances in CHIKARA in 2003 teaming with Claudio Castagnoli as the team Swiss Money Holding. He left and made one return in 2006, to defeat Mike Quackenbush for the WXW (Germany) World Heavyweight Title. He returned in 2009 as the leader of the Die Bruderschaft des Kreuzes (BDK). This lasted until he left at the end of 2011, Ultramantis Black having defeated him for control of the Eye of Tyr at "CHIKARA High Noon" on November 13th. Ares returned to the U.S. again in 2013, at Wrestling Is Cool's December 8, 2013 show "Best Served Cold", where he, Nøkken (essentially a copy of former BDK member Tursas) and the promotion's owner, Milo Schnitzler, shut down the show and the promotion, as part of the Flood's campaign of destroying all the Wrestling Is... promotions. Returned at "National Pro Wrestling Day 2014" as part of the Flood, with Nøkken, Schnitzler and the returning Tursas as the new version of the BDK . Left in September after 3Peck0 (3.0 [Big Magic Shane Matthews and Scott Jagged Parker] and Archibald Peck) defeated the BDK (Ares/Nokken/Dr. Cube) at "CHIKARA King of Trios 2014," and Cube unmasked to reveal Jakob Hammermeier, who then revealed that he had the Eye of Tyr and was using it to control Nokken. Among his in-ring achievements, he and Castagnoli were 1x CHIKARA Campeones de Parejas (Tag Team Champions) as Die Bruderschaft des Kreuzes, 3x WXW World Tag Team Champions, a 2x WXW World Heavyweight Champion, a GSW (German Stampede Wrestling) World Heavyweight Champion, a GSW World Tag Team Champion (with Claudio Castagnoli, Don Heavy and G-Ses as Swiss Money Holding), an SWF (Swiss Wrestling Federation) Heavyweight Champion, the BDK (Ares, Claudio and Tursas) were the 2010 CHIKARA King of Trios and he was inducted into the WXW Hall of Fame in 2015.

Trivia

  • Die Bruderschaft des Kreuzes is German for "Brotherhood of the Cross." However, there was nothing particularly religious about the group.
  • Swiss Money Holding used Nas, Jermaine Dupri and Monica's "I Got to Have It" as entrance music (which Claudio used as a single and as a member of Team Uppercut). Die Bruderschaft des Kreuzes used Rammstein's "Engel.".
  • His nickname "The Permanently Profit-Producing Person" played off of how Claudio Castagnoli's nickname was "The Most Money-Making Man" when they teamed as Swiss Money Holding. Their gimmick was of Swiss bankers.
