Rico Immelman

Rico Immelman is a learner of Hoërskool Noordheuwel in Krugersdorp, South Africa, and was born in Fourways, Gauteng. His love for acting, singing and public speaking started at the age of five where he constantly enjoyed learning new scripts.
On school level he has already won various eisteddfods for acting, overall awards as model, dancer and actor at the South African Championships of Performing Arts, and Best Actor awards for ATKV Tienertoneel. In 2024 he walked away as national winner of Pronk Digi section and came third in the Procenium National drama competition. He also came in second in the nationwide Gekies Vir Die Kollig season 4 competition on Via TV.
At the age of 13 he played his first role in the film The First Last Tour by David Kau. In 2022, his first short film Bennie Bingo by JC Snooke was released. Bennie Bingo won Best Music Score at the Silwerskerm Film Festival. Another level of success awaited as 2022 was also a year for theatre. He played the role of Flippie in the Naledi nominated Gelofte musical by Jannes Erasmus, Johan Vorster and Jacomien De Wet. His gymnastic career enhanced his movement in the musical and his love for signing lead to vocal training with Valeska Muller and Ilan van Staden.
Rico enjoys playing different genres and played the role of Jarryd in Die Fantastiese Verdwyning van Charlie Prins directed by Francois Jacobs and written by Jaco Jacobs.
In 2023 he had an incredible learning experience by playing the role of Kalla in the popular soap 7de Laan.
So far, getting the lead role in the Showmax series Spooksoeker in 2024 is the highlight of his career. Being an international gymnast, he developed skills that significantly enhanced his stunt training and trick execution. His wholehearted passion captivates viewers and audiences, and he is eagerly awaiting more opportunities on stage and in front of the camera as a performer and actor in the industry.
