The beloved Disney Channel original movie, Camp Rock, climbs the streaming charts after a surprise reunion performance with the cast. On August 10, American pop band the Jonas Brothers kicked off their 20th anniversary tour in New Jersey. However, no one expected that ex-actor-turned-musician Demi Lovato would feature as a surprise guest, performing various songs with the band.
Lovato, who first rose to fame alongside the Jonas Brothers, performed “Gotta Find You,” “This Is Me,” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing,” alongside the band, rekindling memories of their Disney Channel beginnings in the 2008 movie Camp Rock and its 2010 sequel. However, the iconic 2000s trio’s surprise reunion performance has had a lasting impact.

Joe Jonas set off a fresh round of speculation about a third Camp Rock film after appearing on the game show Hot Ones Versus and choosing to read the most recent entry in his phone’s notes rather than eat another ultra-spicy wing. Looking into the camera, he said “Read Camp Rock 3,” then added, “It’s the truth. It’s literally right here… sorry, Disney,” prompting surprised reactions from Nick and Kevin Jonas seated beside him. A clip of the moment was later posted on the show’s social channels, where it drew rapid traction.
Despite the viral exchange, there has been no formal announcement from the studio that controls the franchise. A person familiar with the matter indicated that nothing is official at the company, underscoring that Jonas’ on-air tease does not by itself confirm a greenlight. The two original Disney Channel movies premiered in 2008 and 2010 and helped...

Joe Jonas revealed plans for “Camp Rock 3” in order to dodge eating another spicy wing in “Hot Ones Versus.”
Jonas was on the “Hot Ones” spinoff series alongside his brothers Nick and Kevin, and chose to break a potential NDA with Disney over having to deal with another spicy hot wing. To get out of the next bite, he was asked to read the most recent thing in his notes app which seemingly confirmed the sequel’s existence.
“Read ‘Camp Rock 3,’” he said, reading from his notes app. “It’s the truth. It’s literally right here.”
His brothers both appear shocked by the admission to get out of a bite from a “death wing.” Nick and Kevin both agreed that the reveal was “a pretty good one” as they laugh nervously.
“Sorry Disney!” Joe exclaimed afterward.

You’ve probably noticed Demi Lovato looking healthier and more confident lately, but their weight loss story isn’t what you’d expect. Instead of crash diets or extreme workouts, the singer-actress achieved their transformation through something much more meaningful: eating disorder recovery.
After battling bulimia and anorexia for years, Lovato’s current physique is actually the result of learning to love their body, not punish it. Working with therapists and nutritionists, they ditched diet culture completely and focused on mental health first.
The weight loss? That just happened naturally along the way. It’s honestly refreshing to see a celebrity get real about sustainable wellness over quick fixes.

Demi Lovato back, and ready for life in the fast lane.
The Child Star director dropped her latest single “Fast” on Thursday night, the first from her upcoming ninth studio album.
Lovato teased the track on social media earlier this month before officially announcing its arrival. In one mid-July Instagram video, the singer-actress lip-synced to the lyrics of the track, singing, “‘Cause baby honestly / I just wanna feel your hands all over me / Over and over / Right where they wanna be / Even if it’s only for tonight.”
Lovato released an accompanying music video with the track, where she could be seen strutting amongst a slate of burning cars while singing the chorus: “I wanna go fast / I wanna go hard / I wanna go anywhere, anywhere you are.”
Titled “Fast,” the single marks Lovato’s return to the pop music genre after she’d previously tapped into rock in her previous record Holy Fvck.

Demi Lovato turns an old controversy into a humorous moment by revisiting the frozen yoghurt shop she once criticised.
Demi Lovato has returned to The Bigg Chill, the Los Angeles frozen yoghurt shop that made headlines in 2021 after a controversy that quickly went viral. Four years later, the singer has transformed that awkward episode into an opportunity for humour and redemption.
Through her TikTok and Instagram accounts, Lovato shared a series of videos showing her enjoying a yoghurt at the same establishment where the controversy unfolded. In one of the clips, she recreates her most memorable quote from that time: “I walked out of that frozen yoghurt shop and didn’t get the yoghurt I wanted.” She then appears dancing and smiling, dessert in hand.
In a second video, the artist overlays the image with the words: “You look happier.” Her response? “Thanks, I finally got the yoghurt I wanted.

Demi Lovato has returned to an LA frozen yogurt shop while promoting her upcoming new single “Fast.”
The 32-year-old entertainer was embroiled in controversy with the shop back in 2021, when she called them out for promoting sugar-free foods before anything else.
“Finding it extremely hard to order froyo from [The Bigg Chill] when you have to walk past tons of sugar-free cookies/other diet foods before you get to the counter,” Demi said in an Instagram story in April 2021. She even shared Dm messages between her and the shop.
Now, it looks as though all is right between Demi and the shop, as she returned to the same spot four years later, meeting up with a ton of fans while promoting her new single.

The struggling Paramount simply can’t catch a break. After the underperformance of its biggest release of the year, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, the studio debuted the children’s film Smurfs in theaters worldwide last week. The animated film had a poor opening, but is counting on overseas markets to make up for its underwhelming performance at the domestic box office. Poor reviews normally don’t matter for movies aimed at kids, but the Smurfs perhaps aren’t as popular now as Hollywood might have been led to believe a decade or so ago.
With just over $20 million domestically and another $24 million from overseas markets, Smurfs has now grossed a combined total of $47 million worldwide. The movie was produced on a reported budget of $60 million, which is roughly around the same amount that was spent on 2017’s Smurfs: The Lost Village. The movie made nearly $200 million worldwide, which sounds incredible,...

At a time when the likes of Universal’s How to Train Your Dragon remake, Gareth Edwards' big-budget dino-flick Jurassic World Rebirth, and the brand-new, critically acclaimed Superman from director James Gunn are dominating the box office, it can be difficult for any new movie to slip seamlessly onto screens. This is the reality faced by Paramount's usually reliable Smurfs, as it joined Ari Aster’s Eddingtonand the reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer in their underwhelming box office performances this last weekend.
Sadly, following a disappointing opening weekend, it seems things keep going from bad to worse for Smurfs, with 2011’s The Smurfs near $600 million global haul now feeling like a target already unreachable. Officially, following the poor weekend, Smurfs' scores from both critics and audiences on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes have gone from bad to worse, with the former dropping to a dreadful 20% and...

Following the surprise failure of Transformers One last year, the struggling Paramount is turning to an equally trusted property to turn its fortunes around amid reports of a takeover. But Smurfsunderperformed in its box office debut, falling short of even the low bar for success established by the franchise’s last installment, Smurfs: The Lost Village. The movie opened to poor reviews and a mixed audience response this week, clashing with two fellow debutantes — Ari Aster’s Eddingtonand Jennifer Kaytin Robertson’s I Know What You Did Last Summer.
While it’s targeting an entirely different demographic from those films, Smurfscouldn’t capitalize on the lack of competition at the box office following the success of the Lilo & Stitch and How to Train Your Dragon remakes. Combined, those two films have grossed over $1.5 billion worldwide. And there was a time when the Smurfs was just as lucrative a franchise. Hollywood...

While both Ari Aster’s Eddington and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot earned disappointing C+ grades on the polling platform CinemaScore, fellow debutante Smurfs fared only slightly better. It earned a B+ grade on CinemaScore, which is weak for a family movie. Smurfsdidn’t receive much of a marketing push from the struggling Paramount, echoing what happened with the recent Pixar flop Elio. But even that film managed to earn an A grade on CinemaScore, although it still hasn’t come close to recovering its reported $200 million production budget.
Smurfs’ B+ CinemaScore grade puts it on par with The Garfield Movie, which debuted last year and grossed over $250 million worldwide. Featuring the voice of Chris Pratt, the movie recently scored a sequel announcement. The latest attempt to jumpstart the iconic Smurfs franchise back to boxoffice life, Smurfs, will be perfectly acceptable fodder to keep the kiddies amused, and because of its original 80’s Saturday Morning cartoon series, just might provide enough nostalgia to make it bearable for their parents. For me however, even though the Smurfs was the Belgian creation of comics artist Peyo in 1958, when it hit paydirt I was well beyond the generation that would appreciate it most. My memory of the Smurfs was not so admiring as I was, in another life, writing children’s television when the series was a smash and one of my gigs at NBC was to craft interstitial vignettes with the casts of the network’s popular sitcoms as the glue that held their Saturday morning kids lineup intact. One of them was not exactly a sitcom but the animated Smurfs and my assignment was...

What is the deal with the Smurfs? It’s hard to find anyone who is a genuine fan of the blue-skinned, mushroom-dwelling cartoony creatures — they are, arguably, the worst thing to come out of Belgium since King Leopold II — yet Smurf-based films and TV shows continue, relentlessly, to be made.
Now, by unpopular demand, they’re back. Following the advice of Justin Timberlake in The Social Network and dropping the ‘The’, this is another crack at the live-action/animated hybrid format established with 2011’s The Smurfs — think Who Framed Roger Rabbit with none of the charm and James Corden replacing Bob Hoskins. It’s a tedious entry in a tedious series, with more than a whiff of corporate mandate about it.
The script, by Pam Brady (a writer on South Park and Hot Rod), at least shows initial glimmers of self-awareness, gently ribbing the Smurfs’ simplistic, characteristic-based naming convention — with notable exceptions for Smurfette and,...

Justin Bieber's first album in four years has received strong reactions from fans. Swag, which marks the "Baby" singer's seventh studio album, was released on July 11. Consisting of 20 tracks, the record features collaborations with Gunna, Sexyy Redd, and Cash Cobain, and includes a surprise writing credit from Eminem.
Over the weekend, songs from the album took over the daily charts on both Apple and Spotify. The superstar's new album also topped Billboard's fan-voted music poll as their favorite new music release from last week.
Now, fans have taken to social media platforms, reacting to Bieber's new album, Swag, published after the pop star's recent settlement with his manager of more than 15 years. Many are blown away by the authenticity and maturity of the music and how fast Bieber dominated the streaming charts without any promotion, including @KayyKova.
Something I really love about Justin Bieber album Swag is how mature it is.

Justin Bieber’s former manager Scooter Braun has publicly shared his thoughts on the singer’s new album Swag just one day after its release.
Braun, whose split from Bieber drew headlines when first revealed (Braun retired from music management in June 2024), decided to offer his thoughts on Swag to the mix, by writing on his Instagram Story on Saturday, “Been having a beautiful start to the weekend and been getting a lot of texts about how I feel about Justin’s new album.. so I will just leave this here.. This is without a doubt, the most authentically Justin Bieber album to date. It’s beautiful, raw, and truly him. And that matters.”
He continued, “I’ve had the privilege of witnessing his growth for almost two decades. Along every journey, there comes a time when an artist fully steps into their own — and that’s what he’s done here.

Scooter Braun is transitioning his role at Hybe, the South Korean entertainment giant, moving from CEO of Hybe America to an advisory position that will have him joining the Hybe Board of Directors as a director and a senior adviser to chairman Bang Si-Hyuk. The move marks the end of a five-year run at Hybe, which is home to such K-pop acts as BTS and Katseye.
The news was announced to Hybe staffers on Monday when Braun dialed in from his vacation to notify employees that the move was “in the works for quite some time,” according to a source who adds that the five-year plan was initiated with the sale of Braun’s Ithaca Holdings to Hybe in 2021. Braun will remain active in current Hybe projects, like the just-launched girl group Katseye. Braun intimated that he “isn’t going anywhere” and will “still help guide” the artists on the Hybe roster.
