The following contains major spoilers from NCIS: Sydney Season 2, Episode 6, "Hell Weak," which debuted Sunday, March 16 on CBS.
NCIS: Sydney Season 2, Episode 6 is an incredibly formulaic installment of the CBS spinoff. Viewers will be able to figure out the characters, the case of the week and even the emotional story beats well ahead of time. But fans of Evie Cooper and DeShawn Jackson, or anyone hoping that Evie and DeShawn become a couple, will at least find some value in the back and forth between the two agents.
"Hell Weak" opens with the death of Navy Seal candidate Victor Austin, then jumps ahead four years later, when the now-former Seals who trained him are at a wellness retreat. A sudden death among them opens up the past again, and what follows is an example of why some people think TV crime shows are all the same. It never deviates from expectations,...

The following contains major spoilers for NCIS: Sydney Season 2, Episode 2, "Fire in the Hole," which debuted Friday, Feb. 14 on CBS.
NCIS: Sydney Season 2, Episode 2, "Fire in the Hole" has every reason to be terrible. Any time a TV crime drama throws its characters into an undercover situation, the premise has the potential to become gimmicky (see: The Rookie Season 4 sending Chen and Bradford undercover as two characters who just happened to be very similar to them). When the joint NCIS-Afp task force crosses paths with faux pirates, this seems like an episode that isn't going to take itself seriously.

The idea seemed “simple” enough. An episode of NCIS: Sydney in which DeShawn and Evie (played by Sean Sagar and Tuuli Narkle) go undercover at a pirate-themed wedding aboard the James Craig — a 19th-century sailing ship-turned-tour boat — to draw out a killer.

Hulu continues to cancel fan-favorite shows before they can become mainstream successes, and their latest cancellation is no different. How to Die Alone, created by and starring Sonic the Hedgehog scene-stealer Natasha Rothwell, has been canceled by the streaming service after just one season on the platform. Although critics adored the comedy, with reviews earning it a 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes, it seems Hulu did not find enough reason to greenlight another set of episodes for How to Die Alone.
On Tuesday, Hulu officially declined to renew How to Die Alone (via Deadline) for another season. It's unclear why the streamer decided to not move forward with more episodes, but it would not be the first time Hulu prematurely ended a show's lifespan. Rothwell, series creator and star, released a statement about the surprising news, expressing her shock and disappointment. Her words:

NCIS: Sydney ends its first season with a huge cliffhanger, which might be made worse in season 2. The Australian show is the first NCIS spinoff to take place outside of America, and it offers a twist on NCIS' usual format by featuring special agents Mackey and DeShawn as they team up with the Australian Federal Police. The NCIS: Sydney characters often bicker over jurisdiction and team dynamics, but by the end of season 1, they're growing closer than ever. Even the opposing team leaders, Mackey and Jd, are becoming friends.
After a fast-paced exposition, the growing unity among the characters is shattered in the shocking NCIS: Sydney season 1 finale, when it's revealed that the task force's boss, Rankin, has a surprising connection to the kidnapping of Jd's son, Jack. Just before the confirmation of Rankin's involvement, NCIS: Sydney also reveals a season villain in Ana Niemus. However, Rankin's involvement with Ana and her colleague,...

"How to Die Alone" sounds like a fear-mongering headline in a women's magazine listing the do's and don'ts of dating or fashion, a way to scare women into behaving or looking a certain way to not end up like a "childless cat lady" or some other misogynistic descriptor lobbied by insecure weirdos. The fear of dying alone is not exclusive to women, but American society certainly treats single women as moral failures. It's why magazines used to produce lists of "eligible bachelors" while women age into "spinsters." In Natasha Rothwell's brilliant new comedy, "How To Die Alone" isn't just the title of the show, but a jarring wake-up call for Mel who has a near-death experience while alone on her 35th birthday (the same day she's invited to her ex-boyfriend and current manager's wedding) that puts her in the hospital and face-to-face with the woman in the bed next...

NCIS: Sydney season 2 hints at a possible romance tradition returning, adding to the dynamic of the show. Evie and DeShawn's developing relationship could potentially lead to obstacles and tension in future episodes, the same way Tony and Ziva's, as well as Nick and Ellie's respective stories did. Slow-burn romances have been a successful element in the NCIS franchise, adding depth and excitement to the series.
The first season of NCIS: Sydney was filled with classic procedural episodes, but it also left hints that a popular NCIS romance tradition might return in season 2. While NCIS does not focus on romance, the interpersonal relationships in the show are a major part of what makes the series so good. The show and its spin-offs have also featured several romantic relationships among its team members and, from the looks of it, NCIS: Sydney season 2 will continue this trend.

The NCIS franchise started over three decades ago, finding great success as the original and with several spinoffs.
When the writer's strikes happened in 2023, fans were left without an NCIS fix for the first time in over twenty years.
Meanwhile, a new spinoff, NCIS: Sydney, was happening in another part of the world for the first out-of-country NCIS spinoff in history.
The upcoming NCIS spinoff featuring Tony Dinozzo and Ziva David may also take place out of the US.
Originally, there were no plans for NCIS: Syndey to air on US television. But when the strikes shut down television production, CBS picked it up for the fall lineup.
Fans rejoiced at the news of an order for a second season of NCIS: Sydney, while we mourned the cancellation announcement for sister show NCIS: Hawai'i.

Someone on the writing team for the seventh episode of NCIS Sydney must have said something pertaining to the idea of breathlessness, which is why the episode not only has ‘breathlessness’ in the plot quite literally but also has no real resting points to give us a ‘breather’. One of the best episodes of the season so far, it reunited the NCIS Team with one offender that they had not been able to catch previously. The episode begins by showing us a dead body, which is a normal thing for the show to do, but later it does something very unusual, showing us the officers in their party’s best avatars. The girls, Mackey, Evie, and Blue, get to attend an interesting event while DeShawn and Jim go solve the case. But everything is interconnected. The sixth episode of NCIS Sydney went in a slightly novel direction, where, for the first time, one of the team’s members was under suspicion of being a criminal. Constable Evie Cooper, who had done a stellar job until now, was the focus of this episode, as she was assumed to be working for a drug cartel. She hadn’t taken a day off since Jim had inducted her into the unit, but when the new case arrived, she went Awol, arousing suspicion. Mackey and others tried solving the new murder mystery, but it was all linked to Evie’s past. The new episode seemed too much like an undercover cop movie from the seventies, but there were humorous moments, especially when Blue walked in, explaining how she had made a breakthrough.

In the fifth episode of the series NCIS Sydney, we get a scenario where the NCIS get ‘indirectly’ involved in a case. They were stationed in Australia to help protect the assets of the US Navy, but in the latest episode, they find themselves trying to save Dr. Roy Penrose, who gets trapped in a hostage situation. No, it wasn’t a terrorist attack; the hostage-taker was a 15-year-old Louie, who controlled the show for a while with an Ied vest wrapped around her torso. Jim comes to the forefront to save Casey, as he believed from the get-go that a 15-year-old couldn’t be the mastermind of the hostage situation, and indeed he was correct. Here is a detailed recap of NCIS Sydney episode 5.

The fourth episode of NCIS Sydney brought us an interesting case, and the writing is better this time around, not depending on snakes and sharks to twist the investigations. With a classical approach, the episode begins like an 18th-century murder mystery, but soon, the modern NCIS team arrives, and we are thrown amid the case. The episode becomes a story about love and loss, fathers and sons, duty and desertion, and so much more. The series does gain some pathos through NCIS Sydney Episode 4, as Mackey’s more human side comes out, reminiscing about her days in the military. The rest of the team works on the case in the usual manner, chipping in with their knowledge to untangle the mystery.

NCIS: Sydney is beginning to come together as far as the team is concerned.
This new unity came in helpful on a complex case involving former Navy SEALs on NCIS: Sydney Season 1 Episode 3.
So far, the series has featured three pairs: the bosses, the lieutenants, and the specialists.
Mackey and J.D. have developed mutual respect. He is willing to be her second-in-command and has found a way to get inside her significant defenses.
J.D. has also been her guide to all things Australian, especially her new staff. He's also attempting to sand off her rough edges, a full-time job.
Evie and DeShawn have a very different dynamic. She's the worldly older sister, while he's the starry-eyed younger brother.
One scene in this episode sums up their relationship. He suggested that they go undercover as an engaged couple. She scoffed, saying she was too much hotter than him for that to be believable.

Episode 3 of NCIS: Sydney on CBS… well, I found it a bit hard to follow. (Maybe I needed help from an Audio Description Narrator Lady?) But with a second viewing, I managed to put all the pieces together.
The series’ third episode also locked in who all will comprise this “NCIS: Sydney” team moving forward, not that there was any great drama surrounding that.

Another sunny day and another case bewilder the NCIS team in episode 3 of the series NCIS Sydney. In the previous episode, there was a snake responsible for the death of an American in Australia, and in this episode, there is a shark angle to the homicide. Jim, Mackey, and the others regroup and try to solve the complicated case, ultimately discovering the presence of some high-profile people. We are kept entertained by Bluebird’s quirky behavior while she helps crack the case. The use of technology is one aspect of the investigations that the episodes frequently bring forward. Previously, it was the gait-recognition equipment that had helped NCIS solve the case, and this time, there is a dive computer and the Gps tracker on a shark that simplify the case. To keep things light-hearted, Bluebird is given a surprise. While it was supposed to be her last week, as MacNamara,...

The second episode of NCIS Sydney brings another task for Agent Mackey, where she has to take on a complicated homicide case on Australian soil. Jim Dempsey had been asked to work under Mackey and solve any cases involving a US connection. The Afp team was gelling nicely with NCIS, but the usual banter kept things charged, and the fact that NCIS couldn’t have their firearms on Australian soil made them the butt of the joke throughout the episode. The latest case was perhaps made more complex by the ‘snake’ situation, which Australia has no dearth of.

How Was The Body Discovered?
Jim had already started to wear the NCIS cap in order to soothe Mackey, who behaved in a stern manner all the time. Jim was smart enough to make the situation a little less explosive, but his partner Evie called him out on his ‘yielding’ behavior.

Obviously, the NCIS: Sydney unit got thrown together without much forethought by its political creators.
But that didn't stop the team from solving a bizarre murder on NCIS: Sydney Season 1 Episode 2.
Along the way, the "fish out of water" storyline got used for all it was worth, and then some as Mackey and DeShawn struggled to adjust to their unexpected new life in Australia.
This episode must have occurred relatively soon after the temporary squad became more permanent on NCIS: Sydney Season 1 Episode 1.
Otherwise, why would everyone be bringing in coffee in large quantities? Shouldn't someone visit the housey stuff store for a coffee maker?
It's clear that no daily office routine has yet been implemented. And what's with the big bags of boba that Blue naturally supplied?
At least everyone was trying, to various degrees, to make this new arrangement work as envisioned. It's just that sufficient planning hadn't gone into it.

The new show NCIS: Sydney is now streaming, and it looks like we have another murder case to solve. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service, or NCIS, seems like a niche branch, but boy, oh boy, do they have truckloads of cases! The original series NCIS aired in 2003, and since then, the saga has been ongoing, spawning various spin-offs where special agents from NCIS get together, often aided by law enforcement agencies of a specific region, to solve criminal cases related to the navy. As the name suggests, the NCIS: Sydney spin-off series is set in Australia, where NCIS officers find themselves in a spot of bother, not able to find the right footing with the Australian Federal Police. They have a case to solve, and the ‘radioactive’ part of the investigation raises the stakes to exciting levels.

Nene Leakes recently opened up about her experience as an original member of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” in a sit-down interview with former “Rhoa” executive producer Carlos King.
The former “Rhoa” star was (and still is) a favorite from the franchise. Her comedic relief, vibrant personality and laser-sharp clapbacks were part of the reason the franchise gained its massive success, and arguably became the face of the entire “Real Housewives” universe.
It broke many viewers’ hearts to see her departure after Season 12, but Leakes has since popped up in other TV series, and most recently made a cameo in rapper Bia’s music video for “Millions.” While fans don’t see her in the “Real Housewives” realm anymore, Leakes has never been afraid to discuss what it was like when she was a regular cast member.

The reality hit Survivor is full of twists and turns, and the "final four" fire-making challenge twist (first introduced in season 35) has a fascinating history. The final four is a pivotal moment for new-era Survivor castaways. It is the penultimate tribal council, which determines which contestants get to make their cases to the jury, while they try to win the million-dollar prize, and Sole Survivor title.
Fire-making at final four tribal councils isn't necessarily new. Before the fire-making challenge was implemented in Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, the castaways had a traditional vote at the final four. If the vote resulted in a tie, the two cast members receiving votes would go head-to-head in a fire-making challenge. There is no vote, and the castaway who wins the final immunity challenge decides who will join them at the final tribal council. They also decide which two will face off in...

Previously the home of the underdog, Abbott Elementary is now the home of Philadelphia's Educator of the Year, Gregory Eddie! Yes, we all were surprised but not as astonished as Gregory.
The school district wowed us with its insane levels of Affirmative-Action based merit awards. The district chose Gregory solely because he was a black man, and the optics looked great.
Abbott Elementary Season 2 Episode 20 was surprisingly a poignant and touching episode. Aside from the usual antics of the gang, we got to see depths of emotion previously unseen.
Ava served Barbara with a notice from the district that she had coursework to complete. Barbara is a veteran at this point, and she predates many of the requirements and training they develop for the staff, so it is pointless and insulting for her.
And truth be told, the courses sound like gibberish. Barbara enlisted Jacob to help her, and he was over the moon.
