Layne Harper, Jr., was born on February 5, 1982 in Memphis, Tennessee. He is the son to his mother, Faronda, from Memphis Tennessee, and a Apostle father, Dr. Layne Harper Sr., from Trinidad & Tobago. Majority of Layne's childhood was spent abroad due to his parents serving in the United States Army. Layne lived in Darmstadt and Mannheim Germany for 7 years. In 1996, Layne was sent to live with his mother's parents Emma and Harvey Stephenson, in Memphis Tennessee. After graduating from Millington Central High school in 2000, Layne moved to Brooklyn New York with his father's parents, Rosita and Carl Harper, to pursue his music career. December 2001, Layne moved back to Memphis temporarily then moved to Nashville Tennessee where he met his beautiful wife, Jennifer Harper. At the age of 21, Layne became a father in 2004 to Xavier, and after his second son Jaydon was born, The Harper's relocated to Tampa Florida in 2009.
Layne continued to pursue his music career and was featured with MTV, BET, Univision, AT&T, The Source Magazine, DJ Booth, Complex Magazine, XXL Magazine, and was sponsored by global brand, PUMA. Layne eventually put music on hold and launched his clothing brand, VCTRY.
He lives in Tampa, Florida with his wife, Jennifer Harper, and their three children, Xavier, Jaydon, and Enyal Harper.
