Prime Cruz’s supernatural horror feature “The Sacrifice” has wrapped principal photography in the Philippines and revealed its complete cast lineup.
The production has unveiled the full cast joining acclaimed filmmaker Lav Diaz in a rare acting appearance. Leading the ensemble are Lovi Poe, Enchong Dee and Timothy Granaderos.
The newly revealed supporting cast includes Max Collins, Louie Chapman, Pokwang, and Tommy Alejandrino.
The film, scripted by Jerrold Tarog, follows a group of vloggers who venture into a remote Philippine village in search of a mysterious substance harvested only once a decade. Their content-driven expedition transforms into a nightmare as they become entangled in sacred rites and face off against an ancient entity from Filipino folklore.

The film follows a group of young street hustlers navigating Manila’s nocturnal underbelly as they embark on a journey to fulfill their friend’s dying wish. Exclusive: The producers of indie feature Some Nights I Feel Like Walking, directed by the Philippines’ Petersen Vargas, have revealed a first look of the film, which started shooting in Manila at the end of April.
The first look image features three of the lead cast – Miguel Odron, a musician and Idol Philippines grand finalist; Jomari Angeles, a young actor who starred in Brillante Mendoza’s Ma’ Rosa; and Gold Aceron, who won acclaim for playing an intersex person in 2019 drama Metamorphosis.

The biggest winner of this year’s Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival, “The Baseball Player” took home awards for Best Actor, Screenplay, Editing, and inevitably, for Best Film, with the script drawing from The Moro Conflict, an insurgency in the Mindanao region of the Philippines, which has involved multiple armed groups, and has been ongoing since March 1968.

After his family was killed by soldiers, young Khalid ended up living with his parents’ relatives in a neighboring town. Almera, and particularly her teenage son Amir, take the young boy under their wing, and try to help him with both his trauma and the intense change in his everyday life. Meanwhile, Amir, whose father was also killed by soldiers in 2000, is encouraged by his teacher, Jonas, to join the varsity team in baseball, with the young man dreaming of eventually becoming a professional player.
