  • Brunette Austrian actress, who began acting in 1929 while still a student at the Academy for Music and Representative Art in Vienna. She then joined the Zurich Schauspielhaus in Switzerland as an ensemble member for five years, during which period she appeared in 180 different roles. Following the end of World War II, she married an American army officer and former newspaper man, Joseph Besch. She accompanied him to the U.S. and later had a successful career on Broadway, critically acclaimed as Edith Frank in the 1956 production of "The Diary of Anne Frank". Huber retired from acting in 1961.
  • The actress Gusti Huber began her career at the theater in Zurich.
  • Her daughter Bibi Besch (1942-1996) became also a busy actress who had her most successful time in the 70's and 80's.
  • When she got married with an American officer after the war she went to the USA. There she was able to continue her career at television, among others with the serials "Suspense: Night of Reckoning" (1952) and "The Further Adventures of Ellery Queen: Revolution" (1959).
  • During wartime the likeable actress appeared in movies like "Jenny und der Herr im Frack" (1941) and "Gabriele Dambrone" 19(43). Beside it she had many engagements at the Wiener Burgtheater.
  • Name pronounced "Goo-stee, Hoo-ber".
