There was a lot going on in the Wednesday, June 4 episode of Beyond the Gates. Chelsea met a mystery woman at Uptown. Leslie stayed busy attempting to do damage control. Anita told Vernon the truth about the fourth Articulette. Sharon gave her reasons for wanting to do the comeback concert. And Dani and Andre (sort of) defined their relationship, then Dani later visited an ailing Bill, who may have had a minor stroke.

Anita Comes Clean

Anita (Tamara Tunie) told Vernon (Clifton Davis) the truth about Barbara, the fourth Articulette. She died by suicide after getting kicked out of the group that she started. Unfortunately, that terrible Dante Green didn’t think she was polished enough to have the girl-next-door vibe. So even though she had a beautiful voice, she was kicked to the curb, and Anita, Sharon (Bonita Brisker), and Tracy (Maria Howell) didn’t do anything about it.

Anita told Naomi she was wallowing a bit because opening up her life to the Articulettes meant opening up her mind to the past, opening it up to memories that she must have compartmentalized. But in the Tuesday, June 3 episode of Beyond the Gates, she read a letter that didn’t make her look good. Sharon was right on that part. But we need to know more before we pass any judgment.

Beyond the Gates spoilers reveal that Maria Howell will enter the canvas during the week of May 19 playing ‘Tracy’, Anita Dupree’s (Tamara Tunie) long-lost friend and one of the gals who was a part of the singing group, The Articulettes.

Howell has had quite the career and began as a choir soloist from The Color Purple. Fans might also recognize her from roles on Army Wives and Devious Maids, and guest-starring primetime shows like The Resident and Criminal Minds.

An incredible singer, she’s been on the stage along with music artists like Ray Charles, Earl Klugh, and Nancy Wilson.

This Week on Beyond the Gates

Some serious sexual tension creates heat between Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) and casino owner Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom). “What can I say?” the flirtatious real estate agent starts. “When I’m good, I’m great.” Joey takes over from there. “And when you’re bad, you’re better?

“You tell me,” the heiress continues. “Bad is definitely better,” Joey responds. The trouble is, right at that time, Doug (Jason Graham) walks into Orphey Gene’s and sees his wife flirting with the man who wants the money Doug owes him…sooner rather than later. Since the weekly teasers suggest that Doug begins to connect the dots about Joey’s “friendship” with his wife, he’s not going to be happy...

On Beyond the Gates, the Duprees are still feeling the fallout from the most angsty anniversary party ever. Meanwhile, Doug and Vanessa’s shaky marriage may get shakier this week. Finally, Anita confronts her Articulettes past, which she loved. But there were also painful parts she’ll have to relive if she wants this comeback to happen.

Fateful Choices

Three teasers this week have our attention. First, the Duprees navigate heartbreak and hard truths as Eva (Ambyr Michelle) makes a fateful choice about her mother. If we’re talking heartbreak, then Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) has to be at the center of it. She’s drowning in heartbreak right now and even contemplated selling her house to get away from it.

As for Eva making a fateful choice about Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant), she needs to share her suspicions about her mom’s involvement in running Laura (Destiny Love) off the road,...

If Hollywood aims to bring older audiences back to theaters by making movies about them, I submit Summer Camp as a case study in what works (Eugene Levy!) and what definitely does not — painfully flat attempts at wackiness being the chief offender. Veering between strained slapstick and thoughtful tête-à-têtes, this boomer-focused reunion comedy strands a game cast of accomplished septuagenarians in a mostly laugh-free zone of zip lines and predictable beats.

Director Castille Landon’s screenplay offers some well-crafted dialogue, but it never adds up to anything resembling momentum. Landon, whose previous features include the Katherine Heigl starrer Fear of Rain and a couple of entries in the After series of romance movies, does get the setting right in a story that brings together three lifelong friends at the sleepaway camp where they first met. The friends are played by Diane Keaton (who also serves as a producer), Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard.

Sisterhood is the heart and soul of Delilah.

This not only includes the strong bond between besties Delilah and Tamara, but also Delilah and her former college roommate-turned-client Leah. But as viewers saw in Tuesday’s Season 1 finale of Craig Wright’s latest OWN drama, some sisters can’t be saved. Although it seemed like Leah — who really did steal Delilah’s boots when they were young — was a good person, she only cared about herself in the end.

Showing off her new look for "The Good Lie," Reese Witherspoon posted a snapshot on her WhoSay account Thursday (December 5).

The 37-year-old actress showed off her long, brown locks while on the set with co-star Arnold Oceng.

"Back on the road with @ArnoldOceng #TheGoodLie," she captioned the photo.

Although Reese looks fabulous as a brunette, it’s just a wig. The “Legally Blonde” babe still has her signature sandy coif and recently chopped off a few inches.

The "This Means War" dame is wrapping up the drama, which centers around a Sudanese refugee who is taken in by a straight-talking American woman in her home in the Us.
