Wellington Firebirds retain New Zealand's national T20 title
Image
Wellington, Feb 13 (Ians) The Wellington Firebirds have become just the second team to win New Zealand's men's domestic T20 title back-to-back after both Dream11 Super Smash Grand Finals ended in exciting last-over finishes at a buzzing Basin Reserve here.

Clinical, calm opener Devon Conway thrilled the 5,000-strong crowd as he hit the winning boundary with two balls to spare as the defending champions chased down 175 for eight wickets from the Canterbury Kings.

Looking to win their first trophy since the first national T20 competition in 2005-06, the hungry Kings kept themselves in it with the ball despite losing the bowling services of Daryl Mitchell after the all-rounder pulled a side muscle whilst leaping outstretched for an attempted catch, having bowled just one over for four runs.

Like the women's final beforehand, it was a compelling, oscillating grand final in which the advantage was wrested back and forth between the two...

‘WWE: WCW’s Greatest PPV Matches Vol. 1′ Blu-ray Review
Since WWE purchased WCW and the vast video library that came along with it, there have been numerous releases devoted to WCW related content, from the Goldberg set, to the Best of Nitro stuff, down to the Nwo release, but this is the first time WWE has taken a look at the best matches from the rich history of WCW’s Pay-Per-View’s. So here it is, volume one in the greatest matches from the PPV years of WCW.

WCW had some great PPV shows over the years of their existence. From Starrcade to Halloween Havoc, Superbrawl to Uncensored, Road Wild to Sin. Okay, ignore Sin, pretend I didn’t say that.

Here, in this 3 DVD/2 Bd set, you get over 20 matches ranging from 1987 until 2001 and the quality is, for the most-part, very high. From true wrestling greats, such as Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Sting, Vader, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage,...

WWE: 10 Independent Wrestlers That Should Be Signed in 2013
Since taking the reigns of WWE’s talent development and relations departments last summer, Triple H has shown a keen eye for talent, bringing in the likes of Sin Cara, a huge draw from Mexican promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre under the name Mistico, Adrian Neville who formerly thrilled audiences from America to Japan with his high-octane, high-flying style under the alias Pac, earning himself the nickname “The Man Gravity Forgot.” And most recently as last week, independent star El Generico, the Canadian born Luchador who can neither fluent English or Spanish and helps the children of a Mexican based orphanage.

The Nxt brand which “The Game” heads has allowed young talents hone their style, characters and crafts as they edge closer to becoming quite literally, the Superstars of tomorrow. In recent months we’ve witnessed the debuting of Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, collectively known as The Shield.

WWE Raw: Brock Lesnar F-5′s John Cena – 2nd April 2012
The Big News: Brock Lesnar returned to pummel John Cena. The Rock vowed to regain the wwe championship and Cm Punk defended his world championship against Mark Henry only to receive a vindictive drink fuelled surprise from Chris Jericho post-match.

In a Nutshell: Here comes the pain!

—

The show opened with all the superstars sat backstage in a meeting. They were being spoken to by new General Manager of both brands John Laurinaitis. Laurinaitis promised that he wouldn’t abuse his power right before announcing that Santino would defend his United States Title against Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler and Swagger then celebrated like Bill and Ted, completely oblivious to the fact that only one of them would be able to win the championship. Punk then arrived and called Laurinaitis a tool so the Gm booked him in a match to defend his world heavyweight championship against Mark Henry.

Retired former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble competed in a match against World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan at Friday’s Raw live event in Yakima, Washington. Noble, who now works backstage for the WWE as a producer, retired from the ring after 14 years of wrestling through injury in November 2009.
