- Kathleen Howard was born on July 27, 1884 in Clifton, Ontario, Canada. She was an actress and writer, known for Une riche affaire (1934), Premier amour (1939) and Boule de feu (1941). She was married to Edward Kellogg Baird (lawyer). She died on August 15, 1956 in Hollywood, California, USA.

- While filming Boule de feu (1941) in 1941, she was hospitalized by Barbara Stanwyck when Stanwyck delivered a mock punch and accidentally hit Howard in the face and fractured her jaw. Stanwyck was reportedly mortified by the incident.
- Canadian-born mezzo-soprano of English parentage, star of the Metropolitan Opera, 1916-18. Retired from performing on stage in 1928 and was active as a journalist and movie actress. Best known on screen for playing the shrewish wife of W. C. Fields in Une riche affaire (1934).
