Big things are afoot in the indie fantasy book space. Today is The Day of the Dragon, an event started by authors Ryan Cahill, Michael R. Miller, and Philip C. Quaintrell in 2023 to celebrate fantasy of the draconic variety. This event came out of a desire to give something back to readers who love books with dragons in them; the authors hosted sales, released tasty new merch, and generally fostered a sense of celebration in the fandom for all that dragons (and those who tell stories about them) have given us.
This is the second year for The Day of the Dragon, and Cahill is taking advantage of it to make a massive announcement: independent publisher The Broken Binding Press has acquired English worldwide print rights to his hit dragon-rider fantasy series The Bound and The Broken in a major six-figure deal, and will be releasing a brand new run...

Tensions were running high as Ireland’s squad prepared for the 2002 World Cup on the tropical island of Saipan. But little did manager Mick McCarthy know the biggest challenge lay not in winning matches, but keeping peace between two of soccer’s fiercest competitors – Roy Keane and himself. BAFTA nominees Steve Coogan and Éanna Hardwicke are set to bring these iconic figures’ volatile relationship to the big screen in the upcoming film “Saipan.”
Directed by the team behind acclaimed sports drama “Ordinary Love,” the movie chronicles that fateful week where the captain’s legendary temper came to a head with McCarthy’s no-nonsense management. As the island’s sweltering heat matched the rising temperatures between the strong-willed personalities, their confrontation spelled doom for Ireland’s World Cup dreams.
“A million words have been written analyzing what sparked such an explosive fallout,” noted producers John Keville and Macdara Kelleher. Details have remained scarce – until now.

As the full release of Baldur’s Gate 3 grows nearer, Larian has revealed information about the various difficulty modes that the final game will have. During the eighth Panel From Hell developers from Larian Studios explained the different difficultly settings for Baldur’s Gate 3 and how each will affect the player’s experience. Since its release on early access, players have been used to that iteration's default setting; however, more choice is on the horizon.
Baldur's Gate 3 has had a lengthy early access period which restricted players in many ways. There were limited choices of races and classes, and players were only able to experience the first act of what is set to be an epic game, with rough estimates putting the average playthrough between 74 and 100 hours. One of the other restrictions within the early access version was the difficulty setting, which could not be altered, giving some players unfamiliar...
