  • The main character on "Hogan's Heroes" was named after him by his friend Bernard Fein.
  • He made guest appearances on both of the longest running prime time dramas in US television history: Gunsmoke (1955) and New York - Police judiciaire (1990).
  • Leonardo DiCaprio's character Rick Dalton, an actor from the 1960's, mentions him in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, saying "Bobby Hogan" is a great guy. This happens while we see Robert in an episode of F.B.I. that "Rick" appears in.
  • Bob's wife, Mary Hogan, is the author of ten novels, including the bestselling Two Sisters, Left: A Love Story and the historical fiction, The Woman in the Photo (all published by William Morrow). She is also the author of the young adult novels, The Serious Kiss, Perfect Girl and Pretty Face (HarperCollins) and a series of four international Y.A novels published by Delacorte and Simon & Schuster UK.
  • Initial college major was Mechanical Engineering.
  • Graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (New York) in 1953.
  • Survived by his three children: Chris, Stephen, and Jud, and two grandchildren: Susanna, and Liam.
