She was performing in a pub theatre when she was spotted by John Mortimer who picked her for Rumpole's counterpart in the tv series Rumpole of the Bailey then later she was Lady Diana Cooper in Edward and Mrs Simpson Other tv work includes Jemma Shore Investigates, The Naked Civil Servant and Holding the Fort while in the theatre she was in The Mitford Girl. and her first major film was Betrayal while on stage she was in The Mitford Girl in1981.
