Muzaffer Hicdurmaz's journey in cinema began at 14 when he entered the world of Yesilcam, Turkey's legendary film industry. After completing middle school, he chose not to continue his formal education, instead dedicating himself fully to filmmaking. Until 1962, he worked primarily as a cameraman before transitioning to assistant directing and production roles.

Hicdurmaz collaborated with prominent directors like Lutfi Omer Akad, Halit Refig, Kartal Tibet, and Serif Goren. Known for his versatility, he worked on numerous iconic films, particularly in the adventure genre, including nearly all Tarkan films, Malkocoglu, Karaoglan, and Battalgazi. Skilled in horseback riding and action choreography, he became a vital figure in Yesilcam's dynamic productions.

In 1987, Hicdurmaz directed his first and only film, Cark, a powerful social drama portraying the harsh realities of industrial workers in leather industry. The film's impact was so profound that it inspired real-life labor strikes. His contribution to cinema extended beyond film sets, serving as a leader of the Turkish Film Workers' Union (Sine-Sen) and teaching cinema at the Mujdat Gezen Art Center.

Having worked with international directors such as Pier Paolo Pasolini and Elia Kazan, Hicdurmaz gained valuable experience from diverse cinematic cultures. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 12th Eskisehir Film Festival and was an active member of Tursak (Turkish Foundation of Cinema and Audiovisual Culture).
