Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas
Russell Hoban's parents were immigrants from Ukraine. His father was the advertising manager of a newspaper, as well as the director of a Philadelphia drama guild. Russell served in the US infantry during World War II. After the war, he taught art in New York and Connecticut. He began publishing children's books in 1958 and produced more than 50 of them, including seven books that chronicled a badger named Frances. He was also praised for his adult fiction. In 1969, Russell moved to London where he spent the rest of his life. He died in 2011 of congestive heart failure in London, England, UK
