Over the course of its 93 minutes, May intrepidly traverses between disturbing psychological horror, amusing satire, and profoundly sad character study — often simultaneously. Lucky McKee‘s sincere script and direction are anchored by a raw, career-making performance from Angela Bettis.

Bettis stars as the titular character, a mousy, socially inept veterinary assistant desperate to fit in. She quickly falls for the only man to ever notice her, Adam. The handsome cinephile is endeared by her eccentricities at first, but her growing obsession sours their relationship before it has a chance to blossom.

It’s not until the final act of the movie that May decides to take it upon herself to create the perfect companion using her favorite parts of other people. At that point, no one in May’s orbit — from seductive coworker Polly to kinky street punk Blank — is safe from her wrath.

After a Sundance screening in 2002, Lucky McKee’s cult classic horror film May (watch it Here) earned a wider release in 2003 – and to mark the twentieth anniversary of that release, Second Sight Films is giving the film a special edition Blu-ray release in the UK that is packed with hours of bonus features! This drama revolves around a U.S. Marshal, Mary Shannon (Mary McCormack), who works with the Federal Witness Protection Program (Witsec). She doesn't respond well to authority and refuses to conform but has a soft spot for the witnesses (who know her as Mary Shepard). She has trust and abandonment issues that in part stem back to her father's gambling and mother's alcoholism.

Mary's partner is Marshall Mann (Fred Weller), the fifth generation of marshals in his family. He sometimes seems to want more from Mary than just friendship. He's of help...

Spoiler Alert: Five seasons of witness wrangling, crime-stopping tales came to end on tonight’s series finale of In Plain Sight. While it’s gloomy to see it go just as the season hit its stride with Mary (Mary McCormack) managing her impromptu decision to keep little baby Norah and still being a kick-ass U.S. Marshall, the show’s swan song gave us so much to be happy about.

Albuquerque Witsec is staying put, Marshall (Frederick Welller) and Stan (Paul Ben-Victor) both got promoted, Mary made peace with the memories of her dad, and runaway bride Brandi (Nichole Hiltz) returned sober and wiser.

It is an achievement for any series to reach the 5-year benchmark these days on television, and when In Plain Sight ends its wonderful run on May 4th, it will be with heavy hearts for many of the fans. USA Network’s insightful and highly entertaining look at what it means to shepherd witnesses through the witness protection system charmed viewers with its quirky, yet heart-warming characters.

In the world of In Plain Sight, U.S. Marshal Mary Shannon (Mary McCormack) and her partner Marshall Mann (Fred Weller), along with their watchful boss Stan McQueen (Paul Ben-Victor) and newest Witsec member Delia (Tangie Ambrose) comprised the core team charged with the care and well-being of a colorful array of Witsec protectees in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Chicago – Two of USA’s hits return tonight with the second-season premiere of “Fairly Legal” and the fifth-and-final-season premiere of “In Plain Sight.” Both shows work largely because of the talent brought to them by their lead actresses, a welcome change of pace for a network that can often feel a little bit testosterone-heavy (“Psych,” “White Collar,” “Burn Notice” — all driven by their male protagonists). Sadly, the writing could still use some work on both dramas but no one can deny the charismatic skill of the women at their centers.

There was a brief moment there in season two when I thought “In Plain Sight” might actually develop into USA’s best post-“Monk” show. That wasn’t meant to be. The show spun its wheels a few too many times dramatically and never found a way to play up to the strengths of its super-talented star, Mary McCormack.

Shawnee Smith has joined the cast of Charlie Sheen's new sitcom Anger Management. Smith was first named as one of a number of actresses being considered for the FX series last week. The Saw star will play the ex-wife of Sheen's Charlie, a former baseball player turned anger therapist, according to Deadline. Exclusive: Charlie Sheen’s new FX comedy series, Anger Management, is moving to cast its leading ladies. Selma Blair, who had been pursued by the show’s producers, is leading the field of actresses expected to test opposite Sheen at tomorrow’s studio test, which also includes Dexter and No Ordinary Family alumna Julie Benz. On the Lionsgate TV-produced Anger Management, which has an initial 10-episode order, Sheen will portray Charlie, a former baseball player with anger issues who winds up as an unconventional anger management therapist. There are 3 other leads on the series — all female — Charlie’s own therapist, envisioned as a love interest for him, his ex-wife and his 13-year-old daughter. If their deals close by the time the studio tests start tomorrow, I hear that there are at least three actresses reading for each of the roles. Blair is someone identified early on for the therapist role.

Actress Nichole Hiltz was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday on suspicion of child neglect.

Police were reportedly called to the In Plain Sight star's Los Angeles apartment after receiving a call about a disturbance.

Officials detained Hiltz and subsequently took a young child into protective custody, according to TMZ.com.

Hiltz was booked on suspicion of misdemeanour child neglect, but her lawyer has played down the allegations, telling the website, "It was an unfortunate misunderstanding. No charges have been filed and absolutely no harm was done to the child."...

"In Plain Sight" star Nichole Hiltz has a run-in with the law recently. The 32-year-old actress, who is known for her portrayal of Brandi Shannon on the drama series, was arrested in Los Angeles early Tuesday morning, May 31 on suspicion of child neglect, TMZ reported.

Law enforcement officials spilled that police initially responded to a call about a disturbance at the actress' apartment in West Hollywood, but made the decision to arrest her after assessing the situation. The officers also placed her young child into protective custody.

The actress, who plays Libby Collins in three episodes of "Desperate Housewives", was then taken to a nearby station. She was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor child neglect at around 3:30 Am., and has since been released from custody.

Commenting on the arrest, Nichole's attorney insisted that it was just a misunderstanding. To TMZ, the lawyer said, "It was an unfortunate misunderstanding.

Michaela Conlin's Angela on the hit Fox series Bones has been one of the strongest female characters in recent history. Ex-Smallville shutterbug Aaron Ashmore has landed a recurring role on USA Network's In Plain Sight, sources confirm to me exclusively. The erstwhile Jimmy Olsen will play the smart yet rough-around-the-edges long-lost half brother to Mary (Mary McCormack) and Brandi (Nichole Hiltz). He attempts to reconnect with his sibs and discuss their shared father. Ashmore will debut during the latter half of Sight's current third season.

The series regulars discuss the third season of their hit USA show as it kicks into high gear

USA's hit drama In Plain Sight recently kicked off its third season, with Episode 3.02: "When Mary Met Marshall" premiering tonight at 10/9 pm central. Allison Janney guest stars on this particular episode, which finds a break-in threatening the security of the first witnesses that Mary and Marshall protected as a team. We recently caught up with Mary McCormack and Fred Weller to discuss the show as well as the future of the series. Here's what they had to say:

I read a little bit about the new season having a lot less focus on the side characters, Mary specifically with your mom. I was wondering if you feel that is a good direction to go into, or do you think fans will miss the relationship?

Chicago – “In Plain Sight” has not really built the loyal following of other basic cable shows like “Burn Notice” or “The Closer” and I wish the show would try harder to live up to its potential but it’s still wildy entertaining and features one of the better TV actress performances from Mary McCormack.

The veteran actress will play a new U.S. Marshall in a two-episode arc One of the USA Network's biggest hits will have some high-caliber guest stars for its upcoming third season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Allison Janney will guest star on In Plain Sight's third season.

Janney will play a newly-minted U.S. Marshall who doesn't see eye to eye with Mary (Mary McCormack). This just adds to Janney's growing workload, as she signed on for a recurring role in the Showtime pilot Shameless, which stars William H. Macy, and has also signed on for Matthew Perry's NBC pilot, Mr. Sunshine.

I have to be honest: I wasn’t looking forward to seeing this film, despite the buzz at the Slamdance Film Festival, where I caught its premiere last week. Television Rating: 3.5/5.0 Chicago – USA Network’s “In Plain Sight” was one of the best new shows of 2008, another hit for the highest-rated network on cable, USA. The first-year series still needs to iron out a few things to truly live up its potential but the excellent Mary McCormack continues to rock on one of the few must-see basic cable shows this season.

The season premiere of “In Plain Sight” - “Gilted Lily” - perfectly illustrates both the potential and the current flaws with USA’s hit. When a show places so much emphasis on weekly mysteries, you’re bound to have a few that fall flat. I honestly never once cared about the mystery at the heart of the second season premiere of “In Plain Sight” - a tale of a biker and some missing gold coins.
