    • Douglas Heyes was born on May 22, 1919 in Los Angeles, California, USA. He was a writer and producer, known for Tales of the 77th Bengal Lancers (1956), Maverick (1957) and Rintintin (1954). He was married to Joanna Heyes. He died on February 8, 1993 in Beverly Hills, California, USA.

  • Wrote and directed 21 successful TV pilots. He helmed some of the most memorable and highly regarded early episodes of La quatrième dimension (1959)--The Invaders (1961), Eye of the Beholder (1960), The Howling Man (1960)--as well as some of the best miniseries of the 1970s and 1980s, including Captains and the Kings (1976) and Nord et sud (1985).
  • He was also an artist: painter (in oil, water colors, pen and ink), a sculptor, a novelist and author of non-fiction articles.
  • Father of Doug Heyes Jr..
  • Enlisted in the U.S. Army on 21 April 1944 during World War II.
