Biography

Arnold Heslenfeld started his carrier in 1980, after graduating at the Dutch Film Academy, and is one of the Dutch industries most experienced producers. In 2011 he started Topkapi Films together with Frans van Gestel & Laurette Schillings. Topkapi Films is an Amsterdam-based production company dedicated to new ways of storytelling. Topkapi Films create award-winning feature films, television drama and nonfiction for the international market. From fresh voices to established names, they are proud to be working with amazing talent from around the world on stories in any shape or form. Arnold is responsible for all financial and legal decisions at Topkapi Films. Titles successfully produced and co-produced are Instinct, Girl, Tailgate, Another Round, Layla M., A Noble Intention, Love is All, Land and Shade, Belgica, All of a Sudden, The Heineken Kidnapping, Out of Love and The Broken Circle Breakdown.

Previous to Topkapi and IDTV Film Heslenfeld acted for six years as the Head of Feature Films at the Netherlands Film Fund (2003-2009). He worked as Head of Production for PolyGram Filmed Entertainment Benelux between 1993 and 1998. In addition, he was board member of the Maurits Binger Institute and a founding father of the Dutch Film CV, one of the industry's most successful tax rebate systems. In 2009 he joined Frans van Gestel at IDTV Film.
