- Karel Hermánek was born on October 17, 1947 in Prague, Czechoslovakia [now Czech Republic]. He was an actor, known for Stalingrad (1993), Cerní baroni (2004) and Zdivocelá zeme (1997). He was married to Hana Hermánková. He died on August 24, 2024 in Príbram, Czech Republic.

- Karel Hermánek was the director of the Theater Without Rails and the Municipal Theater in Karlovy Vary. For this, he regularly collaborated with film and television.
- He met the presenter and TV announcer Hana Vávrová in the dubbing studio. After the birth of sons Karel (* 1989) and Josef (* 1990), the actor and the presenter decided to get married.
- When the theater Na Zábradli, where he played, collapsed in 1990, Karel Hermánek founded one of the first private theaters in the country, which he humorously named Divadlo Bez zábradlí ( Theater Without Rails). Part of the original ensemble then moved to the National Theatre.
- Stage director Evald Schorm nvited him to the Theater Na zábradlí. Karel Hermánek played there until 1991 and created his most important theater characters there.
- In 2004, Hermánek acquired the Municipal Theater in Karlovy Vary for rent.
