  • Trivia
With many teen fans as well as the Queen in attendance, the Beatles played three songs at the Royal Variety Performance in the Prince of Wales Theatre in London on November 4, 1963, at the height of British Beatlemania. The appearance is well-known for the infamous introduction of their final song, when John Lennon says: "For our last number, I'd like to ask your help. Will the people in the cheaper seats clap your hands? And for the rest of you, if you'll just rattle your jewelry." The band then played "Twist and Shout" to thunderous applause. The act who followed them was Henderson.
