    Radio singer and composer, the son of a Swiss opera star. Vocalist (tenor) with name dance bands of the 1930's, including those of Peter Kreuder and Adalbert Lutter. Helgar made more than 1000 recordings of popular or operatic songs, mostly for Ultraphone and Telefunken. He also appeared as actor in several films and did voice-overs for non-singing stars.
